Senior Vice President – Finance and Operations

📋 Description

• Direct the Finance & Operations division, implementing systems, operational rhythms, financial discipline, and cross-functional processes for growth.

• Manage business operations, encompassing operational cadence, cross-functional collaboration, systems and vendor oversight, and operational reporting.

• Supervise the operating model, annual and quarterly planning, budget management, headcount pacing, infrastructure investments, OKRs, KPI and SaaS-metric reporting, as well as Board-level financial strategy.

• Oversee daily legal and governance matters through external counsel, addressing corporate and financing issues, customer MSAs, and renewals.

• Convert long-term strategy into actionable operating plans, organizational priorities, and financial investments in collaboration with the CEO and President.

• Promote capital efficiency and exercise disciplined oversight of investment decisions.

• Manage state tax obligations, corporate registration, and multistate regulatory compliance.

• Provide executive sponsorship for People Operations, focusing on workforce systems, planning, compensation, and performance processes.

• Advocate for compliance and information security, ensuring SOC 2 maturity, HIPAA compliance, enterprise risk management, and AI governance frameworks are met.

• Direct board and investor operations, including preparation of meeting materials, reporting schedules, and investor communication infrastructure.

• Oversee capital strategy and financing activities, which include fundraising rounds, financial modeling, capital allocation, runway planning, fundraising execution, and the annual 409A valuation cycle.

• Ready the company for corporate development through M&A preparedness, due diligence infrastructure, data-room management, and enterprise valuation analysis.

• Ensure the security of information assets, manage functional-area risks, and verify compliance of relevant third parties with company policies.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.

• At least 12 years of relevant work experience is necessary.

• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in business operations, strategic planning, finance, and executive leadership is essential.

• Candidates should have senior-level experience such as COO, VP of Finance, CFO, or an equivalent role within a scaling technology company.

• Experience in establishing or enhancing finance and operations functions within a Series A–B or similarly scaled organization is required.

• Proven ability to create scalable operating systems, cross-functional planning processes, and executive operating rhythms in a high-growth setting.

• Experience handling legal matters through external counsel with a strong understanding of commercial contracting is necessary.

• Fluency in SaaS growth metrics, including ARR, net revenue retention, CAC/LTV, and burn multiple is required.

• Experience in producing Board-level financial reports is essential.

• Direct involvement in leading or supporting venture financing, including convertible instruments and priced equity rounds, is required.

• Experience with financial modeling, negotiation support, and investor relations is essential.

• A demonstrated commitment to capital efficiency and responsible scaling is necessary.

• Ability to lead through influence across finance, operations, people, legal, and technology functions is required.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is mandatory.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

• A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.

• Preferred qualifications include M&A experience, healthcare/payer or regulated-data experience, oversight in People Operations and information security, a JD degree, and multistate tax/corporate registration/regulatory compliance experience.
