This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Oversee user research initiatives for Public Safety, Civilian, and Vital Core products.
• Design and facilitate customer interviews, usability assessments, field studies, journey mapping, and product validation efforts.
• Collect, assess, and enhance understanding of customer use cases, market segments, competitors, and the regulatory landscape.
• Convert research insights and data into actionable product recommendations, design enhancements, and future research strategies.
• Communicate research findings and insights to stakeholders and disseminate knowledge throughout the organization.
• Collaborate with UX designers to ensure user feedback and testing influence the design process.
• Produce research documentation, analytical outputs, wireframes, workflows, prototypes, and interaction designs when additional design support is required.
• Work alongside designers to establish product structure and layout, iterate on solutions, and validate design work with users.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, and technology teams to ensure solutions align with customer and business needs.
• Assist with customer demonstrations, beta programs, and feedback initiatives.
• Utilize qualitative and quantitative data, analytics, customer insights, and other resources to determine project metrics, identify evidence gaps, and shape testing strategies.
• Implement research methods across remote, in-person, moderated, and unmoderated settings.
• Leverage research and analysis tools such as FullStory, Crazy Egg, and Userlytics.
• Guide junior researchers and enhance research practices and technical skills.
• Participate in accessibility reviews, testing, remediation recommendations, and compliance documentation.
• Aid in the creation and upkeep of VPATs and ACRs.
• 6-8 years of pertinent user research, UX, product design, or related experience.
• Proven experience utilizing various UX research methodologies and selecting suitable research approaches for diverse contexts.
• Background in conducting customer interviews, usability studies, field research, journey mapping, and product validation.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret research findings and data, pinpoint issues, and recommend feasible solutions.
• Experience in effectively presenting research insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Capability to collaborate efficiently with UX design, product, engineering, customer success, sales, and technology teams.
• Experience in producing research documentation and analytical outputs.
• Practical ability to create wireframes, workflows, prototypes, or interaction designs when design support is necessary.
• Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate working relationships, communicate clearly, collaborate, and manage daily issues independently.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in psychology, UX, human-computer interaction, product design, design, graphic design, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with digital accessibility standards and practices, including WCAG.
• Experience in preparing or maintaining VPATs and ACRs.
• Background in accessibility testing, remediation recommendations, or compliance documentation.
• Front-end development experience.
• Must successfully pass the standard company background check and enhanced criminal background check.
• Must be certified by state and local law enforcement to access criminal justice information and uphold CJIS compliance.
