This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +6 more states.
• Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Choose suitable research methodologies while considering speed, rigor, trade-offs, and credibility.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of customers and products to formulate research inquiries and influence product strategy.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, Business Intelligence, and Marketing teams.
• Define study scopes collectively and convert research insights into actionable steps.
• Provide guidance to partners on study design and research methodology.
• Mentor non-research staff and help establish common research standards and practices.
• Investigate the ethical application of AI to enhance research efficiency, quality, and reusability.
• Conduct interviews, usability tests, diary studies, and other generative and evaluative research methods.
• Design and carry out quantitative studies using surveys, behavioral data, and customer experience metrics.
• Utilize descriptive and inferential statistics in analyses.
• Combine qualitative, quantitative, and behavioral data to detect patterns and comprehend customer needs over time.
• Report directly to the UX Research Manager.
• A portfolio, work samples, or case studies are required with the application.
• Eight years of relevant experience, including a minimum of five years in UX, product, or consumer research.
• A Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or PhD in Psychology, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated fluency in mixed-methods research.
• Experience in independently designing, executing, analyzing, and integrating qualitative and quantitative studies.
• Proficiency in generative and evaluative qualitative methods, including interviews, usability testing, and diary studies.
• Practical experience in quantitative research, encompassing survey design and analysis, sampling strategies, data quality assessment, and both descriptive and inferential statistics.
• Familiarity with UX measurement and Voice of Customer practices.
• Capability to manage multiple research initiatives and adapt to changing priorities.
• A strong interest in emerging technologies, including AI.
• Ability to exemplify onX’s Company Values.
• Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
• Willingness to travel quarterly for several days to a corporate office or other onX strategic locations.
• Experience with R or Python, advanced statistics, advanced survey methods, and a passion for outdoor activities are considered advantages, but are not mandatory.
