This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +8 more states.
• Take ownership of the complete design process for designated product verticals, from initial discovery to meticulous delivery.
• Create workflows, information architecture, and interfaces tailored for data-intensive, human-centric clinical processes.
• Assist in the development and enhancement of design systems, patterns, and scalable design standards.
• Present design suggestions and their rationale to stakeholders, integrate feedback, and foster alignment across teams.
• Develop interactive, high-fidelity prototypes to illustrate complex interactions and validate user pathways.
• Participate in the integration of AI-assisted tools into the design workflow.
• Plan and implement qualitative user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions.
• Validate design choices and quickly iterate based on input from users and stakeholders.
• Advocate for WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and principles of plain-language design.
• Design with an acute awareness of privacy, patient trust, and regulatory obligations.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders on healthcare workflows.
• Report to the Director of Technology Solutions and coordinate with the Lead UI Designer regarding design systems and standards.
• A minimum of 5 years of practical product design experience (UI/UX) in delivering digital products, web applications, or complex enterprise platforms from ideation to launch.
• A robust portfolio showcasing complex interfaces, visual hierarchy, and polished execution for data-rich applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including skills in auto-layout, tokens, component variables, and interactive prototyping.
• Capability to work within established design systems and standards.
• Proficiency in managing competing priorities and unclear requirements in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for articulating design choices and presenting to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to engage in discussions about technical constraints and trade-offs directly with engineers.
• Proven track record of using design to enhance business and customer outcomes.
• Familiarity with AI-driven in-product features, such as latency management, confidence scoring, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• A genuine interest in AI-assisted design tools.
• Preferred: experience in clinical, healthcare, health-tech, regulated, or high-stakes environments.
• Preferred: experience in designing interfaces for complex data pipelines, dynamic real-time data, or decision-support tools.
• Must reside near one of the designated IT locations: NYC, NY; Louisville, KY; Tampa, FL; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Dallas/Frisco, TX; Boston, MA; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, GA; Nashville, TN; Chicago, IL; or Charlotte, NC.
• Home internet connection must support at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
• Must work from a dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
