This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with sales and head office teams to deliver high-quality, competitive solutions to high-net-worth clients.
• Perform risk assessments and classifications in accordance with Manulife's principles and standards.
• Foster and maintain positive, effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide exceptional customer experiences through meaningful interactions.
• Adhere to consumer laws and regulations related to risk classification, confidentiality, and disclosure.
• Identify and recommend solutions for underwriting-related challenges and processes.
• At least 5 years of experience in underwriting.
• Life signing authority of $5,000,000 or more.
• Familiarity and experience within the high net worth market.
• A sales and relationship-oriented mindset with a strong motivation to generate business.
• Progressing towards or having completed FALU, FLMI, and ACS designations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, including physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, imaging, diagnostic testing, and treatments.
• In-depth understanding of how non-medical risks influence mortality, including hazardous occupations, sports, hobbies, and lifestyle factors.
• Experience with financial reporting.
• Training in anti-money laundering practices.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required for candidates in Québec; otherwise, it is considered a strong asset.
• Preferred authority of $100,000 or more in Critical Illness (CI).
• A university or college degree in a related field is preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills are advantageous.
• Interest in participating in external presentations, panels, or conferences is preferred.
• Experience in co-signing, referral reviews, and mentoring is preferred.
