Senior Transmission Planning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver analytical support and insights related to transmission for an expanding portfolio of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy, and hybrid projects.

• Conduct powerflow analysis to evaluate the risks and costs associated with integrating new generation sources into the system.

• Evaluate the technical and commercial viability of establishing new projects or acquiring existing ones.

• Generate planning-level cost assessments for interconnection facilities.

• Create summaries, reports, and other documentation to convey technical results to both technical and non-technical team members.

• Research, design, and develop powerflow models, validate data, and simulate proposed projects.

• Enhance and optimize processes and automation to ensure a streamlined workflow.

• Undertake additional tasks as necessary or assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience, with proficiency in at least one Powerflow Software: TARA, PSSE, or PSLF.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Familiarity with one or more electric markets: CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, or NYISO.

• Working knowledge of NERC planning standards.

• Experience in programming languages such as Python or Java is preferred.

• Familiarity with data visualization tools (ArcGIS, PowerBI) is desirable.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to perform under tight deadlines and time constraints.
