Senior Data Center Network – Mellanox Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Execute cluster initiation tasks utilizing established deployment methodologies, automation workflows, and configuration standards.

• Create and validate extensive Ethernet fabrics using CLOS and leaf-spine architectures.

• Formulate IP addressing strategies and verify network topology, connectivity documentation, and infrastructure designs.

• Construct, provision, test, and confirm network switch configurations in both lab and production settings.

• Set up and resolve inter-node networking issues, including those in RoCE-enabled environments.

• Craft automation scripts and tools using Python and Ansible.

• Diagnose network, hardware, cabling, and configuration challenges during deployment and operational support tasks.

• Collaborate with data center technicians and remote-hands teams to facilitate remediation efforts.

• Record incidents, troubleshooting insights, root cause analysis, and deployment results.

• Generate deployment records, configuration artifacts, validation documentation, and operational handoff materials.

• Relay project status, risks, blockers, and technical updates to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Engage in a 24x7 operational support model with mandatory weekend coverage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience with Ethernet switching, routing, and TCP/IP networking.

• Advanced expertise in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting data center leaf-spine/CLOS architectures.

• At least 4 years of practical experience with BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN.

• Minimum of 3 years of Linux systems administration experience.

• More than 2 years of automation experience with Python and Ansible.

• Familiarity with ZTP, PXE, and DHCP-based provisioning technologies.

• Experience in customer-facing roles within professional services, consulting, or technical support settings.

• Proficient in utilizing AI-assisted tools for technical operations and automation development.

• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and collaboration abilities.

• Capacity to work independently in a remote, shift-based support environment.

• Hands-on experience with Cumulus Linux is preferred.

• Experience in deploying and supporting AI GPU clusters or HPC environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with RoCE networking and high-performance interconnect technologies is preferred.

• Experience in diagnosing physical-layer and cabling issues within data center environments is preferred.

• Previous roles as a technical lead, shift lead, or mentor to engineering teams are preferred.
