Senior Test Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Examine business processes, functional and non-functional requirements, high-level designs, and software documentation.

• Develop and execute test plans, testing strategies, and methodologies.

• Create and implement test cases, test suites, and test data for both functional and non-functional testing.

• Design, build, and sustain reusable automated test scripts.

• Assess and choose suitable test automation tools and technologies.

• Establish and manage test environments.

• Conduct both automated and manual testing, analyzing results accordingly.

• Document defects and issues utilizing DevOps tools.

• Assist in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of identified problems.

• Implement automated reporting and metrics collection for testing.

• Carry out and support performance testing activities.

• Compile and deliver comprehensive test reports.

• Apply testing methodologies within DevSecOps and CI/CD frameworks.

• Facilitate testing discussions and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in test planning, preparation, execution, monitoring, and control.

• Over 5 years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer or in a comparable position.

• A university degree with a minimum of 5 years of IT experience, or a non-university degree with at least 8 years of IT experience.

• In-depth understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

• Extensive experience in defining test strategies for software systems and components.

• Advanced knowledge of both functional and non-functional testing, encompassing performance, configuration, usability, data migration, and compatibility testing.

• Significant experience with test management and automation tools.

• Practical experience with test automation technologies, such as Microsoft Playwright.

• Experience in API testing and CI/CD processes.

• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.

• Familiarity with performance testing tools.

• Experience with model-based and/or low-code test automation methodologies.

• Background in requirements analysis, test design, defect analysis, and test reporting.

• Knowledge of software-testing risk assessment and management.

• Experience troubleshooting web applications using browser developer tools and tools such as Fiddler.

• Understanding of relevant enterprise technologies, including .NET, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, MSSQL, GIS, Power BI, Docker, Microsoft 365, Azure, and/or ADFS.

• Excellent communication, documentation, reporting, and presentation abilities.

• Capacity to work effectively within cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.

• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or an equivalent is required.

• Nice to have: Advanced knowledge of SQL and data technologies.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with automated vulnerability scanning and security checks integrated into CI/CD.

• Nice to have: Experience with AI-assisted, model-based, or low-code test automation.

• Nice to have: ISTQB Test Analyst certification or its equivalent.

• Nice to have: ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer certification or its equivalent.

• Nice to have: Other relevant testing or technology certifications.

• Strong quality engineering and automation mindset.

• Ability to merge traditional testing expertise with contemporary automation tactics.

• Comfortable in defining testing strategies and taking ownership of testing operations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficient in clearly communicating testing outcomes to both technical and business stakeholders.
