Automation Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Lead the discovery process and assess opportunities across various business functions to pinpoint high-value automation targets.

• Take ownership of the comprehensive architecture and technical design for automation and AI workflows that encompass multiple enterprise systems.

• Establish and uphold engineering standards pertaining to testing, observability, deployment, and governance.

• Oversee and mentor a team of AI and automation developers, providing technical guidance and reviewing design work.

• Convert leadership and stakeholder priorities into technical specifications, while translating technical trade-offs into business language.

• Develop integration patterns that connect AI agents, RPA/automation platforms, and enterprise systems.

• Collaborate with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and automation engineers to validate and prioritize potential solutions.

• Manage input for vendor/platform evaluations and establish reusable component standards for the automation practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in designing and leading automation/AI system architecture across various enterprise systems.

• Proficient in programming with any coding language.

• Proven experience in system design.

• Strong practices in software development, including testing, CI/CD, and code quality standards.

• Hands-on experience in designing and deploying agentic workflows.

• Experience in leading or mentoring engineering teams.

• Proficiency in English.

• Preferred: Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns such as APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms.

• Preferred: Experience in establishing governance/Center of Excellence (CoE) frameworks.

• Preferred: Background in supporting platform or vendor evaluations.

• Experience with AI agent tools, including Claude, Claude Code, and Glean.

• Familiarity with automation/low-code/no-code tools like UiPath, n8n, and Zapier.

• Knowledge of APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, MCP, SQL, and SaaS integrations.
