This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Represent Encova Insurance to designated agents.

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of agency operations and utilize agency management to promote profitable multi-line growth.

• Attain annual sales goals for the designated territory in accordance with the annual business plan.

• Oversee sales opportunities through proactive outbound calls, agency visits, digital sales tools, and virtual webinars.

• Stimulate new business quote activity and production.

• Manage production, profitability, and relationships with assigned agencies.

• Collaborate with business teams to establish and uphold sales plans and develop agency success plans.

• Work alongside Underwriters and Production Underwriters.

• Support objectives for Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, and Workers Compensation profit centers.

• Assist in agency development planning and track progress towards goals.

• Aid Regional Vice Presidents with prospecting, appointing, and onboarding new agencies.

• Engage with agency principals to enhance partnerships and foster relationships with agency staff.

• Train agencies and new agency hires on Encova products, processes, product rules, rating procedures, underwriting and binding guidelines, and policy forms.

• Utilize CRM and other automated resources in a timely, thorough, and detailed manner.

• Achieve targeted wallet shares and market shares for designated territories.

• Analyze agency issues and determine suitable responses.

• Assess agency performance in terms of profit and growth and hold agencies accountable for action plans and results.

• Communicate Encova's value proposition for each line of business.

• Collect and disseminate competitive intelligence, market changes, and competitive positioning.

• Lead Service Team meetings and develop or propose action plans.

• Attend industry events.

• Act as a mentor/informal leader and subject matter expert for agency-facing roles and other Territory Managers.

• Overnight travel is required.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of commercial underwriting experience or relevant industry experience is strongly preferred.

• A Bachelor's degree and prior insurance experience is preferred.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Proven sales experience with a successful track record is highly desired.

• Excellent phone presence with experience handling multiple outbound/inbound calls daily.

• Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools, including online meetings and video conferencing.

• Strong listening, communication, and presentation skills.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and self-manage time effectively.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM software is preferred.

• Flexible scheduling, including occasional irregular hours, is required.

• Demonstrated knowledge of current business conditions, competition, and territory-specific issues.

• Demonstrated fluency with insurance rules and regulations, policy, product, and service requirements.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, encompassing both formal and informal presentation abilities.

• Strong consultative and negotiation skills with the capability to effectively persuade and influence others.

• Ability to understand carrier/agency reports/metrics, recognize trends, and utilize data for fact-based discussions.

• Demonstrated creativity and proficiency in problem-solving and developing solutions.

• Overnight travel is required.

• Must reside and work within Encova's eligible U.S. states; this posting specifically mentions Pennsylvania.

• Ideal candidates will live in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area and have established relationships with agents in the state.
