This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the complete delivery process of intricate, high-stakes mission-critical and data-center infrastructure projects.
• Manage outcomes related to costs, schedules, scopes, procurement, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Direct Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Coordinators while ensuring adherence to delivery standards and alignment of workstreams.
• Lead pre-design and feasibility initiatives, encompassing due diligence, constructability evaluations, capacity validation, and value engineering.
• Implement expedited, parallelized delivery methodologies to meet speed-to-market commitments.
• Create and assess Method of Procedures (MOPs) for critical infrastructure projects.
• Carry out procurement and commercial operations, including the development of RFPs, vendor qualifications, negotiations, and direct contracting.
• Coordinate prime and trade contracts across various trades including electrical, mechanical, controls, fire protection, structural, and general sectors.
• Manage GMP/NTE budgets, ROM estimates, change orders, forecasts, pay applications, and variance analyses.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients on a day-to-day basis and provide data-driven reporting.
• Identify, document, and escalate technical, scheduling, and commercial risks.
• Ensure quality assurance and commissioning of critical power, cooling, life-safety, and control systems in active and energized environments.
• Conduct field assessments, onsite evaluations of electrical equipment, operational testing, inspections, and commissioning tasks.
• Oversee maintenance of electrical equipment, testing activities, and contractor performance.
• Collaborate on project plans, specifications, and engineering drawings utilizing CAD software.
• Ensure that designs adhere to relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Provide specialized knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, UPS, batteries, emergency generators, transfer switches, switchgear, and distributed generation.
• Uphold site safety protocols, including lockout-tagout (LOTO), safe work practices, safety stand-downs, and corrective measures.
• Assist with contract administration, compliance, insurance documentation, and governance procedures.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in construction project management within data center, industrial, or other mission-critical settings.
• Proven experience in overseeing the complete delivery of large, complex, high-value projects.
• A successful history of delivering projects at scale: with a total project cost exceeding $50M, high schedule intensity, and technically intricate MEP scopes.
• Direct supervision of trade contractors in active and energized construction environments.
• Established commercial and contract leadership capabilities, including RFP development, negotiation, and management of GMP, NTE, or similar contract structures.
• Advanced expertise in project management, scheduling, and financial management software.
• Extensive knowledge of MEP systems, critical power/cooling infrastructure, and commissioning standards, including NFPA and ASHRAE.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, executive-level presentation, and reporting skills.
• Capacity to work independently with sound judgment in ambiguous, high-pressure, fast-paced situations.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% for specific projects as required.
• Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, CCM, CDCP®, or DCDC® are preferred.
• Experience with design-build, EPC, or accelerated/parallelized schedule delivery methodologies is preferred.
• Background in leading speed-to-market delivery for colocation operators or hyperscale clients is preferred.
• Familiarity with UPS systems, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, BMS networks, and alternative cooling technologies is preferred.
• Strong comprehension of electrical and mechanical systems, testing, and commissioning protocols for 24/7 mission-critical operations is preferred.
• Experience in managing multiple concurrent or geographically distributed sites is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage and recover projects under significant financial, scheduling, or technical pressures is preferred.
