Senior Technical Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Establish the operational rhythm for the product and engineering sectors.

• Implement a minimum viable structure to ensure team alignment and document decisions effectively.

• Facilitate regular sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and demonstrations.

• Manage workback plans and dependency maps for releases, integrations, and inter-team engineering tasks.

• Oversee project trackers and visibility tools, including reliable Linear views.

• Maintain ongoing views for production bugs, current tasks, and items facing obstacles.

• Identify technical and timeline risks, challenge overly optimistic plans, and enforce readiness checkpoints.

• Lead comprehensive cross-team programs, including feature launches, integrations, and technical migrations.

• Define, sequence, schedule, and communicate programs to stakeholders effectively.

• Manage transitions and interfaces between product, engineering, and other workflows.

• Directly resolve cross-team obstacles and eliminate dependencies.

• Utilize escalation frameworks to support leadership in decision-making.

• Be responsible for the first-response rota for incidents and client interruptions.

• Translate engineering challenges for non-technical stakeholders.

• Maintain portfolio overviews and generate weekly written status reports.

• Assist in OKR reporting and tracking, highlighting progress and deviations.

• Report to the Principal Technical Program Manager and collaborate with engineering leads and product managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, preferably in AI/ML, platform infrastructure, or developer tooling.

• Proven history of managing complex programs with multi-team dependencies and strict external deadlines.

• Authentic technical fluency: able to read system architecture and understand its implications; comfortable discussing APIs, integration design, and platform trade-offs without being the engineer present.

• An engineering background is a significant advantage.

• A structured thinker who produces clear documents and can create coherent frameworks from ambiguity, incomplete specifications, and conflicting stakeholder perspectives.

• Effective communication at all levels: from leadership updates to detailed dependency maps for technical leads, demonstrating sound judgment regarding the appropriate level of detail.

• Willingness to contribute to an emerging TPM discipline by helping to shape templates, rhythms, and norms.

• Bonus: experience in a high-growth scale-up or a company developing infrastructure while applying it to real customer workloads.

• Must possess the legal right to work and reside in the country from which you intend to work.
