This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Take ownership of the banking platform roadmap encompassing accounts, deposits, cards, and lending on a unified ledger and account model.
• Assess core banking platforms and processors, perform vendor diligence, model costs and time-to-market, and aid in build-vs-buy decisions.
• Design account hierarchies, sub-ledgers, chart-of-accounts mappings, posting rules, holds, interest and fee accruals, and integrate with the general ledger.
• Define requirements for transfers, ACH, card issuing, network settlement, real-time rails, returns, reversals, exception handling, cutoff windows, and settlement reconciliation.
• Ensure comprehensive reporting, traceability, controls, reconciliation, balance attestation, and complete transaction history for Finance, audit, and regulatory bodies.
• Convert Compliance and Legal requirements into platform functionalities, including screening hooks, onboarding data, error resolution, disclosures, statements, and reporting.
• Lead migration planning, data mapping, parallel-run strategies, validation criteria, rollback plans, and phased cutover when necessary.
• Produce detailed technical specifications, API contracts, event schemas, data models, user stories, and release plans.
• Establish and monitor platform KPIs using SQL, including posting latency, reconciliation break rate, settlement accuracy, and failure rates.
• Identify technical risks, edge cases, race conditions, and dependencies proactively.
• Meet evolving regulatory and business deadlines even with incomplete information.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Finance, Compliance, Treasury, and Risk teams.
• A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical field (mandatory).
• 5–10 years of product experience, including significant exposure to financial infrastructure.
• Proven ownership in ledgers, general ledger or balance and transaction systems; payment processing or money movement; card issuing; deposit, wallet or account platforms; lending platforms; or product work with processors, BaaS providers, or core banking vendors.
• Comfortable with double-entry accounting concepts, such as debits and credits, sub-ledgers, accruals, and reconciliation, or a readiness to learn them swiftly.
• Profound technical knowledge of APIs, event-driven architecture, idempotency, distributed system failure modes, batch versus real-time processing, and data flows.
• Strong SQL capabilities and the ability to query and interpret data independently.
• Experience collaborating directly with Compliance, Legal, Finance, or Treasury stakeholders.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make informed, documented decisions with incomplete information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across engineering, Finance, and executive discussions.
• Practical familiarity with AI tools, data models, or generative AI applications.
• Preferred: direct experience with core banking platforms; core migration, conversion, or ledger replacement experience; experience in regulated financial institutions; familiarity with consumer finance regulations; experience with consumer credit, BNPL, card products, or bank-fintech sponsorship; third-party risk management, and vendor oversight experience.
• Salary range of $5,000–$8,000 per month gross in USD.
