Senior Technical Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and clearly communicate Keet’s long-term product vision as a premier private, peer-to-peer communication application with a goal of reaching 1 billion users.

• Conduct analysis of WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, LINE, WeChat, and other emerging competitors to pinpoint P2P advantages and develop the product roadmap.

• Present the product vision, strategy, metrics, and progress updates to the board and executive leadership.

• Establish measurable growth strategies focusing on acquisition, activation, retention, and virality.

• Acquire in-depth knowledge of the Holepunch P2P stack, encompassing Pear, Bare, Hypercore, Hyperswarm, HyperDHT, Autobase, and Hyperbee.

• Collaborate with the engineering team on NAT traversal, offline synchronization, multi-device support, large group interactions, push notifications, and optimizing mobile battery/data efficiency.

• Manage the quality of 1:1 and group voice/video calling and screen sharing to standards that meet or exceed those of Google Meet and Zoom.

• Define tiers for features that differentiate between stable and experimental functionalities.

• Utilize AI coding and design tools to create prototypes and demos within a matter of days.

• Lead the product team by organizing sprint planning, prioritization, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Oversee deliverables from conception to release, including testing and post-launch enhancements.

• Maintain issue trackers and roadmaps that reflect priorities and sprint commitments.

• Coordinate efforts among engineering, QA, design, marketing, and business stakeholders while managing cross-team dependencies.

• Provide clear updates on status, risks, and timelines while ensuring accountability.

• Manage the iOS and Android mobile release processes, including store submissions, review guidelines, compliance, listings, ratings, and release management.

• Supervise desktop distribution and installers for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

• Develop privacy-preserving systems for crash reporting, debugging, and analytics.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of product management experience, including substantial time in a senior or lead role managing a consumer product from start to finish.

• Proven ability to establish a product vision and achieve measurable outcomes at scale, impacting tens of millions of users or more.

• Experience in leading engineers to deliver products, including managing sprint cycles with reliable delivery across cross-functional teams.

• Strong skills in JavaScript and React.

• Capability to read and write production code, review pull requests, and develop working prototypes.

• An intuitive understanding of distributed and local-first systems, including synchronization, offline behavior, and consistency trade-offs.

• Practical experience in launching and scaling mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.

• Thorough knowledge of App Store and Google Play logistics, review processes, and release management.

• Familiarity with real-time voice and video calling products, including their quality, latency, and reliability trade-offs.

• Proven ability to leverage AI tools for rapid prototyping and demonstration of product concepts.

• Excellent communication skills, particularly in presenting vision and strategy to boards, executives, and investors.

• Strong judgment to make prompt, high-quality decisions even with limited information.

• Willingness to thrive in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment and put in extended hours as necessary.

• Proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Nice to have: product leadership experience at a major messaging application.

• Nice to have: experience with peer-to-peer technologies, distributed systems, or decentralized protocols.

• Nice to have: previous exposure to Holepunch, Pear, or Hypercore.

• Nice to have: experience in expanding products in emerging markets or across various regions and languages.

• Nice to have: background in privacy, encryption, or security-focused products.

• Nice to have: familiarity with Electron, React Native, installer systems, boot performance, and Linux packaging.

• Nice to have: understanding of unit, integration, end-to-end, test automation, and performance testing.

• Nice to have: engineering background or a degree in computer science.

• Nice to have: experience with Git, issue trackers, and modern collaboration tools.
