This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Take ownership and clearly communicate Keet’s long-term vision as a private, peer-to-peer communication application with an aim to reach 1 billion users.
• Conduct analysis of competitors such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, LINE, WeChat, and emerging challengers to determine Keet’s P2P advantages.
• Develop the product roadmap and establish growth strategies focusing on acquisition, activation, retention, and virality.
• Present product vision, strategy, metrics, and progress updates to the board and executive leadership.
• Cultivate a thorough understanding of the Holepunch P2P stack and translate its capabilities and limitations into product decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering on NAT traversal, offline synchronization, multi-device support, large group functionalities, push notifications, and optimizing mobile battery and data usage.
• Oversee the 1:1 and group voice/video calling as well as screen-sharing experiences.
• Establish feature tiers that differentiate between stable and experimental functionalities.
• Utilize AI coding and design tools to develop working prototypes and demos within a matter of days.
• Lead the product team and manage sprint planning, prioritization, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Take ownership of deliverables from conception through to release, testing, and post-launch iterations.
• Maintain issue trackers and roadmaps that reflect priorities and sprint commitments.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA, design, marketing, business stakeholders, and cross-team dependencies.
• Provide clear updates regarding status, risks, and timeline adjustments while ensuring accountability.
• Manage iOS and Android mobile release processes, including store submissions, compliance, listings, ratings, and release management.
• Supervise desktop distribution and installers for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Develop privacy-preserving systems for crash reporting, debugging, and analytics.
• Over 8 years of product management experience, notably in a senior or lead role overseeing a consumer product from start to finish.
• A proven history of establishing product vision and driving measurable outcomes at scale, with a user base of tens of millions or more.
• Experience in leading engineering teams and managing sprint cadences with reliable delivery across cross-functional teams.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript and React.
• Proficient in reading and writing production code, reviewing pull requests, and creating working prototypes.
• An intuitive understanding of distributed and local-first systems, including synchronization, offline functionality, and consistency trade-offs.
• Practical experience in shipping and scaling mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
• Extensive familiarity with App Store and Google Play logistics, review processes, and release management.
• Experience with real-time voice and video calling products, including awareness of quality, latency, and reliability trade-offs.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to quickly prototype and showcase product concepts.
• Outstanding communication skills with experience in presenting vision and strategy to boards, executives, and investors.
• Capability to make swift, high-quality decisions even with incomplete information.
• Willingness to thrive in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment and put in extended hours when necessary.
• Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Nice to have: experience in product leadership at a major messaging application.
• Nice to have: familiarity with peer-to-peer technologies, distributed systems, or decentralized protocols.
• Nice to have: exposure to Holepunch, Pear, or Hypercore.
• Nice to have: experience in scaling products within emerging markets or across diverse regions and languages.
• Nice to have: background in privacy, encryption, or security-focused products.
• Nice to have: knowledge of Electron, React Native, installer systems, boot performance, and Linux packaging.
• Nice to have: understanding of unit, integration, end-to-end, test automation, and performance testing.
• Nice to have: engineering background or a degree in computer science.
• Nice to have: experience with Git, issue trackers, and modern collaboration tools.
