This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take ownership of and clearly express the long-term product vision for Keet, positioning it as a premier private, peer-to-peer communication application with the goal of reaching 1 billion users.
• Conduct an analysis of competitors such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, LINE, WeChat, and emerging players to pinpoint Keet's P2P advantages and formulate the product roadmap.
• Communicate the product vision, strategy, metrics, and progress to the board and executive leadership.
• Establish measurable strategies for acquisition, activation, retention, and virality growth.
• Acquire an in-depth understanding of the Holepunch P2P stack, which includes Pear runtime, Bare, Hypercore, Hyperswarm, HyperDHT, Autobase, and Hyperbee.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on NAT traversal, offline synchronization, multi-device support, large group capabilities, push notifications, and optimizing mobile battery/data usage.
• Manage 1:1 and group voice/video calling and screen sharing to meet or exceed the quality standards of Google Meet and Zoom.
• Determine feature tiers for both stable and experimental functionalities.
• Leverage AI coding and design tools to rapidly create working prototypes and demos within a few days.
• Lead the product team, overseeing sprint planning, prioritization, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Oversee deliverables from initial conception through to release, testing, and post-launch iterations.
• Maintain issue trackers and roadmaps that reflect priorities and sprint commitments.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA, design, marketing, and business stakeholders while managing cross-team dependencies.
• Provide clear status, risk, and timeline updates while addressing accountability issues.
• Manage mobile release processes for both iOS and Android, including submissions to the App Store and Google Play, compliance, listings, ratings, and release management.
• Supervise desktop distribution and installation processes across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Develop privacy-preserving systems for crash reporting, debugging, and analytics.
• A minimum of 8 years of product management experience, including substantial time in a senior or lead position overseeing a consumer product from start to finish.
• A proven history of establishing product vision and successfully driving it to measurable outcomes at scale (tens of millions of users or more).
• Experience in leading engineering teams that deliver products and managing sprint cadences with reliable delivery across cross-functional teams.
• Strong skills in JavaScript and React; capable of reading and writing production code, reviewing pull requests, and building functioning prototypes.
• An intuitive understanding of distributed and local-first systems, including synchronization, offline behavior, and consistency trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience in shipping and scaling mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms.
• Deep knowledge of App Store and Google Play logistics, review processes, and release management.
• Experience with real-time voice and video calling products, along with an understanding of quality, latency, and reliability trade-offs.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize AI tools for rapid prototyping and showcasing product concepts.
• Exceptional communication skills, with experience in presenting vision and strategy to boards, executives, and investors.
• The ability to make quick, high-quality decisions with incomplete information.
• A willingness to thrive in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment and to go the extra mile, including working extended hours when necessary.
• Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
• Nice to have: Product leadership experience at a major messaging application.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with peer-to-peer technologies, distributed systems, or decentralized protocols.
• Nice to have: Previous exposure to Holepunch, Pear, or Hypercore.
• Nice to have: Experience in growing a product within emerging markets or across various regions and languages.
• Nice to have: Background in privacy, encryption, or security-focused products.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of Electron, React Native, or similar cross-platform frameworks, installer systems, boot performance, and Linux packaging (Snap, AppImage, Flatpak).
• Nice to have: Understanding of unit, integration, end-to-end, test automation, and performance testing.
• Nice to have: An engineering background or a degree in computer science.
• Nice to have: Experience with Git, issue trackers, and modern collaboration tools.
