Senior Technical Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and articulate Keet’s long-term vision as the premier private, peer-to-peer communication application.

• Develop a strategic roadmap informed by competitive analysis of WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, LINE, WeChat, and emerging rivals.

• Communicate product vision, strategy, metrics, and progress to the board and executive leadership.

• Establish measurable growth strategies focusing on acquisition, activation, retention, and virality.

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Holepunch P2P stack, which includes Pear, Bare, Hypercore, Hyperswarm, HyperDHT, Autobase, and Hyperbee.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to address P2P challenges such as NAT traversal, offline synchronization, multi-device support, large groups, push notifications, and mobile efficiency.

• Oversee 1:1 and group voice/video calling and screen sharing to achieve quality levels that meet or exceed those of Google Meet and Zoom.

• Determine stable versus experimental feature tiers.

• Utilize AI coding and design tools to create prototypes and demos within a matter of days.

• Lead the product team, managing sprint planning, prioritization, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Take full responsibility for deliverables from conception through release, testing, and post-launch iterations.

• Maintain issue trackers and roadmaps that accurately reflect priorities and sprint commitments.

• Coordinate across engineering, QA, design, marketing, business stakeholders, and cross-team dependencies within Holepunch and Tether.

• Provide transparent updates regarding status, risks, and timeline adjustments while ensuring accountability.

• Manage the iOS and Android mobile release processes, which include App Store and Google Play submissions, compliance, listings, ratings, and release management.

• Supervise desktop distribution and installers for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

• Construct privacy-preserving systems for crash reporting, debugging, and analytics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years in product management, including substantial experience in a senior or lead role overseeing a consumer product from start to finish.

• Proven success in defining product vision and driving measurable outcomes at scale (with tens of millions of users or more).

• Experience in leading engineering teams and managing sprint cadences with reliable delivery across cross-functional groups.

• Strong JavaScript and React expertise; capable of reading and writing production code, reviewing pull requests, and creating functional prototypes.

• Intuitive understanding of distributed and local-first systems, encompassing sync, offline functionality, and consistency trade-offs.

• Practical experience in shipping and scaling mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of App Store and Google Play logistics, review processes, and release management.

• Familiarity with real-time voice and video calling products, including their quality, latency, and reliability considerations.

• Proven ability to leverage AI tools for rapid prototyping and demonstration of product concepts.

• Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to present vision and strategy to boards, executives, and investors.

• Strong judgment for making quick, high-quality decisions in situations with incomplete information.

• Willingness to thrive in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment and work extended hours when necessary.

• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Experience with major messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE, WeChat, Signal, Viber, or KakaoTalk is a plus.

• Familiarity with peer-to-peer technologies, distributed systems, or decentralized protocols is advantageous.

• Prior exposure to Holepunch, Pear, or Hypercore is a significant asset.

• Experience in growing a product within emerging markets or across diverse regions and languages is a plus.

• Background in privacy, encryption, or security-centric products is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Electron, React Native, installer systems, boot performance, and Linux packaging is a plus.

• Understanding of unit, integration, end-to-end testing, automation, and performance testing is a plus.

• An engineering background or a degree in computer science is a plus.

• Experience with Git, issue trackers, and modern collaboration tools is a plus.
