This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Take ownership and develop the banking platform roadmap that encompasses accounts, deposits, cards, and lending utilizing a unified ledger and account model.
• Assess core banking platforms and processors, perform vendor due diligence, model costs and time-to-market, and assist in making build-versus-buy determinations.
• Design account hierarchies, sub-ledgers, chart-of-accounts mapping, posting rules, holds, interest and fee accrual, alongside general ledger integration.
• Specify product requirements for transfers, ACH, card issuance, network settlement, real-time rails, returns, and reversals.
• Guarantee reporting, traceability, controls, reconciliation, balance attestation, and comprehensive transaction history for Finance, audit, and regulatory bodies.
• Convert Compliance and Legal requirements into platform functionalities, which include screening mechanisms, onboarding data, error resolution, disclosures, statements, and reporting.
• Manage migration and cutover strategies, which involve data mapping, parallel runs, validation, rollback plans, and staged cutover.
• Draft technical specifications, API contracts, event schemas, data models, user stories, and release strategies.
• Utilize SQL to define and track platform KPIs such as posting latency, reconciliation break rate, settlement accuracy, and failure rates.
• Identify technical risks, edge cases, race conditions, and dependencies proactively.
• Achieve results against changing regulatory and business deadlines amidst incomplete data.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Finance, Compliance, Treasury, and Risk teams.
• A bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.
• 5–10 years of product experience, particularly in financial infrastructure, is necessary.
• Proven ownership of at least one area of financial infrastructure such as ledgers, payments and money movement, card issuance, deposit/wallet/account platforms, lending platforms, or processor/BaaS/core banking products.
• Familiarity with double-entry accounting principles, including debits and credits, sub-ledgers, accruals, and reconciliation, or a readiness to learn rapidly.
• Strong comprehension of APIs, event-driven architecture, idempotency, distributed-system failure modes, batch versus real-time processing, and data flows.
• Proficient SQL skills with the ability to independently query and analyze data.
• Experience engaging directly with stakeholders from Compliance, Legal, Finance, or Treasury.
• Capability to make well-documented decisions in ambiguous situations and with limited information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Practical knowledge of AI tools, data models, or generative AI applications is advantageous.
• Preferred qualifications include direct experience with core banking platforms; experience with core migration, conversion, or ledger replacement; experience within a chartered or licensed financial institution; familiarity with consumer finance regulations; experience with consumer credit, BNPL, card products, or bank-fintech sponsorship; and experience in third-party risk management and vendor oversight.
