Senior Technical Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and clearly define the long-term vision for Keet as a private, peer-to-peer communication application aimed at reaching 1 billion users.

• Conduct analyses of WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, LINE, WeChat, and other emerging competitors to pinpoint Keet’s P2P strengths and develop the product roadmap.

• Communicate the product vision, strategy, metrics, and progress to the board and executive leadership.

• Establish measurable growth strategies encompassing acquisition, activation, retention, and virality.

• Gain an in-depth understanding of the Holepunch P2P stack and convert its capabilities and limitations into informed product decisions.

• Collaborate with engineering on NAT traversal, offline synchronization, multi-device support, large group functionalities, push notifications, and optimizing mobile battery/data usage.

• Oversee the 1:1 and group voice/video calling and screen-sharing functionalities.

• Determine feature tiers for stable versus experimental functionalities.

• Leverage AI coding and design tools to quickly create working prototypes and demos.

• Lead the product team and manage sprint planning, prioritization, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Manage deliverables from initial conception through to release, testing, and post-launch iterations.

• Maintain issue trackers and roadmaps that accurately reflect priorities and sprint commitments.

• Coordinate with engineering, QA, design, marketing, and business stakeholders while managing cross-team dependencies.

• Provide clear updates regarding status, risks, and timeline changes, while ensuring accountability.

• Manage iOS and Android mobile release processes, including store submissions, compliance, listings, ratings, and release management.

• Oversee desktop distribution and installer processes for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

• Develop privacy-preserving crash reporting, debugging, and analytics systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of product management experience, with considerable time spent in a senior or lead role managing a consumer product from start to finish.

• Demonstrated success in establishing product vision and driving it towards measurable outcomes at scale (tens of millions of users or more).

• Experience leading engineering teams that deliver products, including running sprint cadences with reliable delivery across cross-functional teams.

• Strong expertise in JavaScript and React, with the ability to read and write production code, review pull requests, and create working prototypes.

• Intuition for distributed and local-first systems, including synchronization, offline behavior, and consistency trade-offs.

• Hands-on experience in shipping and scaling mobile applications on iOS and Android, along with familiarity with App Store and Google Play logistics, review processes, and release management.

• Experience with real-time voice and video calling products and understanding of the related quality, latency, and reliability trade-offs.

• Proven ability to utilize AI tools for rapid prototyping and demonstrating product concepts.

• Outstanding communication skills, with experience in presenting vision and strategy to boards, executives, and investors.

• Sound judgment to make swift, high-quality decisions despite incomplete information.

• Willingness to thrive in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment and to go the extra mile, including working extended hours when necessary.

• Proficient written and spoken English.

• Preferred: experience in product leadership at a significant messaging application; knowledge of peer-to-peer technologies, distributed systems, or decentralized protocols; familiarity with Holepunch, Pear, or Hypercore; experience in emerging markets or multilingual contexts; focus on privacy, encryption, or security products; experience with Electron, React Native, or similar frameworks; knowledge of installer systems, boot performance, and Linux packaging; expertise in testing methodologies and automation; background in engineering or a computer science degree; experience with Git, issue trackers, and modern collaboration tools.
