Senior Technical Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and clearly communicate Keet’s long-term product vision as a premier private, peer-to-peer communication application aiming for 1 billion users.

• Evaluate competitors such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, LINE, WeChat, and new entrants to identify P2P advantages and develop the product roadmap.

• Convey product vision, strategy, metrics, and progress updates to the board and executive leadership.

• Establish measurable growth strategies focusing on acquisition, activation, retention, and virality.

• Acquire a thorough understanding of the Holepunch P2P stack and apply its capabilities and limitations to product decisions.

• Collaborate with core engineering on NAT traversal, offline synchronization, multi-device support, large groups, push notifications, and mobile battery/data efficiency.

• Oversee the 1:1 and group voice/video calling and screen-sharing experience, ensuring quality that meets or surpasses Google Meet and Zoom standards.

• Define feature tiers to differentiate between stable and experimental functionalities.

• Utilize AI coding and design tools to create prototypes and demos within a few days.

• Lead the product team, managing sprint planning, prioritization, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Manage deliverables from conception to release, including testing and post-launch iterations.

• Keep issue trackers and roadmaps updated to reflect priorities and sprint commitments.

• Coordinate with engineering, QA, design, marketing, and business stakeholders within the Holepunch and Tether ecosystem.

• Provide updates on status, risks, and timelines while addressing accountability issues.

• Oversee iOS and Android mobile release processes, including store submissions, compliance, listings, ratings, and release management.

• Manage desktop distribution and installers for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

• Create privacy-preserving crash reporting, debugging, and analytics systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product management, with considerable time spent in a senior or lead role responsible for a consumer product end to end.

• Proven ability to establish product vision and drive it to measurable outcomes at scale, impacting tens of millions of users or more.

• Experience leading engineering teams that successfully deliver products, including managing sprint cadences with consistent delivery across cross-functional teams.

• Proficient in JavaScript and React.

• Capability to read and write production code, review pull requests, and develop working prototypes.

• Strong intuition for distributed and local-first systems, including synchronization, offline performance, and consistency trade-offs.

• Practical experience in launching and scaling mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of App Store and Google Play logistics, review processes, and release management.

• Familiarity with real-time voice and video calling products, including quality, latency, and reliability considerations.

• Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI tools for rapid prototyping and product concept demonstration.

• Excellent communication skills, particularly in presenting vision and strategy to boards, executives, and investors.

• Sound judgment in making prompt, high-quality decisions with limited information.

• Willingness to work extended hours as mission demands.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

• Nice to have: experience in product leadership at a major messaging application.

• Nice to have: familiarity with peer-to-peer technologies, distributed systems, or decentralized protocols.

• Nice to have: exposure to Holepunch, Pear, or Hypercore.

• Nice to have: experience expanding products in emerging markets or across various regions and languages.

• Nice to have: background in privacy, encryption, or security-centric products.

• Nice to have: knowledge of Electron, React Native, installer systems, boot performance, and Linux packaging.

• Nice to have: understanding of unit, integration, end-to-end, automation, and performance testing.

• Nice to have: engineering background or a degree in computer science.

• Nice to have: experience with Git, issue trackers, and contemporary collaboration tools.
