This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
• Take ownership of and clearly communicate the long-term product vision for Keet as a premier private, peer-to-peer communication application.
• Create a roadmap informed by competitive analysis of platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, LINE, WeChat, and up-and-coming competitors.
• Present the product vision, strategy, metrics, and progress reports to the board and executive leadership.
• Define measurable growth strategies covering acquisition, activation, retention, and virality.
• Gain a working knowledge of the Holepunch P2P stack, which includes Pear, Bare, Hypercore, Hyperswarm, HyperDHT, Autobase, and Hyperbee.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on P2P challenges such as NAT traversal, offline synchronization, multi-device support, large group management, push notifications, and mobile battery/data efficiency.
• Take charge of real-time 1:1 and group voice/video calling and screen sharing, ensuring quality that meets or surpasses that of Google Meet and Zoom.
• Establish feature tiers that differentiate between stable and experimental functionalities.
• Utilize AI coding and design tools to produce prototypes and demonstrations within days.
• Lead the product team, managing planning, prioritization, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Oversee deliverables throughout the release cycle, including testing and post-launch iterations.
• Maintain issue trackers and roadmaps that accurately reflect priorities and sprint commitments.
• Coordinate efforts between engineering, QA, design, marketing, business stakeholders, and cross-team dependencies across Holepunch and Tether.
• Provide clear updates on status, risks, and timeline adjustments while addressing accountability issues.
• Manage the iOS and Android mobile release processes, including submissions to the App Store and Google Play, compliance, listings, ratings, and release management.
• Supervise desktop distribution and installers for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Develop privacy-preserving systems for crash reporting, debugging, and analytics.
• Over 8 years of experience in product management, with significant time spent in a senior or lead role overseeing a consumer product from inception to completion.
• A proven history of establishing product vision and driving measurable outcomes at scale, affecting tens of millions of users or more.
• Experience in leading engineers who successfully deliver products and managing sprint cadences with reliable delivery across cross-functional teams.
• Strong skills in JavaScript and React.
• Capability to read and write production-level code, review pull requests, and create functional prototypes.
• An understanding of distributed and local-first systems, including synchronization, offline behavior, and consistency trade-offs.
• Practical experience in shipping and scaling mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of App Store and Google Play logistics, review procedures, and release management.
• Experience with real-time voice and video calling products, including quality, latency, and reliability considerations.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools for rapid prototyping and showcasing product concepts.
• Excellent communication skills with experience presenting vision and strategy to boards, executives, and investors.
• Strong judgment to make quick, high-quality decisions even with incomplete information.
• Willingness to thrive in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment and work extended hours as necessary.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Nice to have: experience in product leadership at a major messaging application.
• Nice to have: familiarity with peer-to-peer technologies, distributed systems, or decentralized protocols.
• Nice to have: previous exposure to Holepunch, Pear, or Hypercore.
• Nice to have: experience in growing products within emerging markets or across multiple regions and languages.
• Nice to have: background in privacy, encryption, or security-centric products.
• Nice to have: knowledge of Electron, React Native, installer systems, boot performance, and Linux packaging.
• Nice to have: understanding of unit, integration, end-to-end, test automation, and performance testing.
• Nice to have: an engineering background or a degree in computer science.
• Nice to have: experience with Git, issue trackers, and modern collaboration tools.
