This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Prepare and assess federal, state, and local tax returns for Brookdale’s corporate and partnership entities.
• Supervise appeals, sales tax submissions, and other corporate documentation.
• Create and evaluate analyses of tax adjustments and general ledger distributions.
• Assist in the quarterly and annual tax provisions for both the consolidated group and stand-alone reporting.
• Maintain fixed asset records and ascertain capitalization or expensing for tax purposes, including tax lives, methods, and conventions.
• Prepare quarterly and annual roll-forward analyses along with annual gain/loss evaluations.
• Act as the primary contact for CorpTax software to prepare and electronically submit tax returns.
• Utilize computer software for tax research, calendar management, and tax planning activities.
• Engage in departmental discussions regarding procedures and processes.
• Participate in daily dialogues about workplace responsibilities to foster a team-oriented environment.
• Provide technical guidance to Tax Analysts, review their outputs, and offer informal feedback.
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPA or MST certification is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to utilize current and emerging technologies and tools to improve processes and procedures.
• Ability to maintain and safeguard confidential company information.
• Dedication to upholding a professional development plan and continuously enhancing technical skills.
• Experience with Corptax Tax Software is an advantage.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, or nights if necessary for shift coverage.
• Availability for on-call duties as needed.
