Senior Tableau Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in enterprise analytics, regulated visual reporting, storytelling with data, dashboard performance, and enabling self-service BI.

• Execute intricate configuration, development, integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.

• Collaborate closely with government stakeholders, architects, engineers, product owners, cybersecurity professionals, operations teams, and business users.

• Provide advanced platform engineering or application development support for Tableau functionalities.

• Design, configure, develop, integrate, test, document, and maintain Tableau capabilities utilizing Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server or Cloud, Prep, published data sources, extracts, permissions, performance optimization, subscriptions, and regulated analytics practices.

• Construct governed dashboards, published data sources, extracts, permission models, performance-optimized workbooks, and executive-ready reporting products.

• Convert business, mission, security, accessibility, and operational needs into technical solutions.

• Aid in platform architecture, backlog refinement, implementation planning, release readiness, and transitioning to production activities.

• Create reusable patterns, configuration standards, automation, documentation, and support procedures.

• Resolve issues related to platform configuration, code, data, APIs, identity, security, performance, and user experience.

• Work in conjunction with cybersecurity, privacy, data, infrastructure, QA, and change management teams.

• Maintain technical documentation including design decisions, implementation notes, test evidence, and operational runbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 6 years of experience in senior platform engineering or application development.

• Practical experience with Tableau implementation, configuration, development, integration, testing, or operations.

• Experience collaborating with Agile delivery teams and translating stakeholder requirements into sustainable technical solutions.

• Strong hands-on expertise in Tableau capabilities, implementation strategies, administration, development, integration, and lifecycle management.

• Familiarity with APIs, identity and access management, data handling, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and release coordination.

• Proficient in documenting technical designs, configuration choices, operational procedures, test results, and associated risks.

• Excellent communication skills with government stakeholders, product owners, engineers, QA, cybersecurity, and operations teams.

• Capability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• Experience with DevSecOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code, or platform release automation.

• Understanding of federal security and compliance principles including NIST controls, FISMA, FedRAMP-authorized services, audit evidence, and least privilege principles.

• Experience enhancing platform governance, reuse, documentation, observability, and operational readiness.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Atlassian, Snowflake, data catalogs, CRM, or enterprise integration frameworks.
