Senior Systems Engineer – Network-Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Address the most intricate service and infrastructure challenges within client environments

• Take ownership of issues until resolution, minimizing ticket reassignment, repeated escalations, and dependencies across teams

• Deliver advanced technical support for servers, cloud services, identity management, endpoints, and networking

• Act as the primary escalation point for complex networking and firewall challenges

• Identify and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Exchange, server infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and firewalls

• Conduct comprehensive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions

• Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, NAT, and site-to-site connections

• Design, configure, and troubleshoot on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures

• Recognize systemic issues and drive long-term solutions to minimize recurring escalations

• Generate clear documentation and resolution notes to enhance L1/L2 troubleshooting capabilities

• Collaborate with service leadership to refine standards, workflows, and service efficiency

• Mentor and offer technical guidance to L1/L2 engineers

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive MSP support experience at a senior level, with the capability to independently resolve complex tickets across various technology domains

• Demonstrated experience as an L3 or senior escalation engineer in a managed services setting

• Strong practical experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure, including identity, access, and core services

• Familiarity with troubleshooting Active Directory, Exchange, and identity-related issues

• Experience with Windows Server and common server roles

• Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent

• Experience with endpoint management and standard MSP tools, including RMM, PSA, backup, and security solutions

• Proven ability to manage tickets from start to finish, conduct root cause analysis, and implement lasting fixes

• Solid hands-on networking experience, including firewall configuration and troubleshooting, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and subnetting

• Excellent documentation and communication skills, able to articulate technical issues to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders

• Preferred: In-depth knowledge of networking and firewalls in MSP client environments

• Preferred: Practical experience with Fortinet, SonicWall, Meraki, or similar firewall technologies

• Preferred: Experience in designing or troubleshooting complex or problematic client networks

• Preferred: Experience in supporting hybrid cloud environments and network-integrated cloud services

• Preferred: Experience in mentoring or upskilling L1/L2 engineers

• Preferred: Familiarity with automation, scripting, or process improvement initiatives in an MSP context

• Preferred: Experience working with offshore or distributed service teams
