This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +18 more states.
β’ Design, deploy, maintain, and enhance enterprise network infrastructure and security platforms, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, WAN circuits, VPNs, and other related technologies.
β’ Oversee network engineering projects from initial planning and design through to implementation, documentation, testing, and ongoing operational support.
β’ Create and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless, data center, and cloud-connected network architectures.
β’ Establish and uphold network and network security standards, reference architectures, implementation practices, and engineering best practices.
β’ Design, implement, review, and maintain firewall policies, ACLs, segmentation, VPN access, NAT, secure management access, zero trust-aligned controls, and access control frameworks.
β’ Act as an escalation resource for complex network and security incidents involving routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, VPN, DNS, DHCP, WAN, cloud connectivity, performance, availability, and policy matters.
β’ Conduct firewall rule reviews, network access reviews, security policy cleanup, and vulnerability remediation concerning network infrastructure.
β’ Keep network and security documentation up to date, including diagrams, standards, configurations, procedures, support records, implementation plans, and firewall rule documentation.
β’ Resolve network and security operations tickets in accordance with service levels, escalation procedures, and change management practices.
β’ Propel network growth, capacity planning, infrastructure refresh, technology standardization, and security platform modernization initiatives.
β’ Lead and collaborate with vendors, service providers, contractors, security teams, and internal stakeholders on projects, deployments, migrations, cutovers, and upgrades.
β’ Occasionally travel to Evansville, Indiana for team meetings and collaborative events, approximately twice a year.
β’ Bachelorβs degree or equivalent experience in a related field or a minimum of 4+ years in network engineering and network security.
β’ Extensive experience with NGFW firewalls such as Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, or FortiGate.
β’ Familiarity with enterprise networking technologies and management platforms like Arista, Juniper, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, and NDFC is preferred.
β’ Proven experience in designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-scale network infrastructure within medium-to-large multi-site business environments.
β’ Strong grasp of routing, switching, VLANs, spanning tree, wireless, WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, NAT, QoS, and high availability concepts.
β’ Knowledge of network security principles, including segmentation, ACLs, least privilege access, secure remote access, zero trust principles, logging, monitoring, and incident response support.
β’ Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000 switching platforms and Cisco Catalyst Wireless or Meraki is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with BGP, OSPF, or EIGRP is preferred.
β’ Experience with SD-WAN, VPN technologies, WAN provider coordination, and remote-site connectivity is preferred.
β’ Proficient in configuring, deploying, and maintaining Cisco network devices in enterprise environments.
β’ Understanding of cloud networking and hybrid network connectivity, including AWS or Azure.
β’ Experience with network monitoring, firewall logging, NetFlow, SNMP, Syslog, packet analysis, and performance troubleshooting tools is preferred.
β’ Ability to independently manage complex network engineering projects and troubleshoot advanced technical issues.
β’ Capable of communicating technical and security matters effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to document technical designs, changes, security decisions, and procedures.
β’ Ability to juggle multiple priorities, projects, operational issues, and security-related requests.
β’ Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently.
β’ Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
β’ Participation in an on-call rotation outside of normal business hours is required.
β’ Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNA, Cisco Security, Palo Alto, Fortinet, AWS Networking, CompTIA Network+, or Security+ are preferred.
β’ Experience in designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure in a multi-site environment.
