Senior Systems Administrator – Secret

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Execute builds, installations, configurations, administration, and troubleshooting for both Linux and Windows environments.

• Implement and enforce compliance with DISA STIG across various systems and networks.

• Create server builds tailored for both virtual and physical environments.

• Oversee the management, maintenance, configuration, and deployment of Kubernetes, Rancher, and Helm.

• Develop scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for patching, configuration, and infrastructure tasks.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and redundant physical and virtualized infrastructure.

• Utilize Salt and Ansible for automating and orchestrating infrastructure processes.

• Establish administrator and service accounts while ensuring system documentation is up to date.

• Optimize system performance and install software across the system.

• Validate and apply system patches, including those critical for security.

• Enhance infrastructure by adopting current technology best practices and facilitating cross-application integrations.

• Manage AWS cloud environments, focusing on provisioning, monitoring, and optimization.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams utilizing Agile practices and methodologies.

• Provide expert customer support.

• Handle account management tasks, such as creation, password resets, troubleshooting, and account termination or deletion.

• Engage in system integration testing, including planning, execution, and documentation of tests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience.

• Minimum of 7+ years of pertinent professional experience.

• Proven hands-on experience in leading teams.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

• Knowledge of Configuration as Code (CaC) and Policy as Code (PaC).

• Must possess an active Secret clearance.

• Experience in system integration testing throughout the complete system development life cycle, including the creation of test plans, cases, and processes.

• Background in Agile project management environments.

• Proficient in deriving security requirements.

• Experience in documenting test results for corrective actions, reporting, and audit purposes.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to function both collaboratively and independently as a self-starter.

• Expertise in the configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu).

• Experience with yum and APT repositories.

• Background in building virtual and physical servers.

• Familiarity with cloud service providers and cloud operations.
