PACS System Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver management and user support for PACS and various clinical system applications utilized by Imaging Services.

• Operate PACS equipment, encompassing image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, pre-fetching, and ensuring image quality assurance.

• Guarantee accurate DICOM digital image transfer into PACS while managing RIS validation and exceptions.

• Execute changes, additions, corrections, and testing within databases to meet business needs and project initiatives.

• Analyze and devise solutions for users’ clinical systems challenges alongside IS staff.

• Identify, assess, and resolve issues related to PACS and clinical systems.

• Define tasks, allocate responsibilities, set completion dates, and communicate progress effectively.

• Suggest equipment, software, and workflow solutions to address present and future PACS requirements.

• Create educational materials and deliver initial and ongoing training for end-users.

• Investigate operational issues and formulate proposals in collaboration with radiologists, managers, supervisors, and technologists.

• Develop operational standards, policies, procedures, and training programs in conjunction with Imaging, IT, and IS teams.

• Analyze support data to recommend procedural and educational modifications.

• Design future QA/QC requirements and streamline workflow processes integrated into operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree in computer science or a related field is required.

• A preferred two years of experience with radiology information systems.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Familiarity with PACS equipment and image workflow is essential.

• Understanding of DICOM digital image data transfer is required.

• Proficiency in managing RIS validation and exceptions handling.

• Capability to perform database changes, additions, corrections, and testing.

• Strong ability to analyze and resolve issues related to PACS and clinical systems.

• Competence in developing training materials and effectively communicating work plans.

• Ability to collaborate with Imaging, IS, IT, radiologists, managers, supervisors, and technologists.

• Adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and mandatory education requirements is necessary.
