This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Oversee and manage Altruistiq (AQ), Amcor's main sustainability data platform, which includes user administration, data validation, and platform configuration.
• Perform quarterly data validation processes, identify variances, rectify data issues, and upload invoices.
• Provide completion reports and send reminder communications to ensure timely site submissions.
• Assess site-level data methodology templates for consistency with reporting standards and business updates.
• Train users on the platform and hold office hours to assist manufacturing sites with troubleshooting and process inquiries.
• Aid in Scope 3 GHG reporting through the collection and validation of production and transportation data.
• Coordinate sustainability targets and reporting to Amcor Limited in alignment with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
• Create, maintain, and enhance sustainability dashboards and reporting tools for PCR, recyclability, and transportation metrics.
• Optimize and automate data retrieval processes, enhancing data collection, assurance protocols, and analytical insights.
• Gather and verify packaging and component data across various product lines and sustain datasets covering SKUs, customers, and products.
• Conduct data quality assessments to identify and resolve outliers, inconsistencies, and duplicates.
• Document analysis methods and assumptions to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and readiness for audits.
• Execute Life Cycle Assessments and present results at conferences, trade shows, and customer engagements.
• Assist in customer meetings related to LCA methodology, carbon reduction strategies, and sustainability commitments.
• Manage EPR reporting responsibilities and assist customers with external EPR reporting needs.
• Convert product specifications into structured data for regulatory compliance and reporting.
• Oversee Sedex ethical responsibility reporting across manufacturing sites and aid in audit preparation.
• Support both internal and external audits, including those conducted by Intertek.
• Lead recyclability reporting efforts and contribute to year-end sustainability reporting, partnerships, and the Annual Sustainability Report.
• Coordinate QSR reporting and assist with corporate sustainability disclosures.
• Investigate market trends, competitive activities, customer insights, and emerging technologies.
• Maintain databases that track competitors, customers, market trends, packaging technologies, and commercial insights.
• Facilitate strategic planning, M&A, and business development initiatives through thorough research and analysis.
• Explore packaging technologies, manufacturing processes, and sustainability innovations for potential growth opportunities.
• Assist in the creation of marketing materials, customer presentations, sales collateral, press releases, and product launch communications.
• Provide support in customer meetings by offering sustainability data, market insights, competitive intelligence, and technical information.
• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, market research, marketing/business analytics, or a similar analytical role.
• Proven experience with sustainability data platforms and GHG reporting frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, Scope 1/2/3).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities; able to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience managing large datasets and translating data into actionable business insights.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to work efficiently across cross-functional teams and foster strong internal and external relationships.
• Familiarity with Altruistiq, Sedex, or similar sustainability/ESG platforms is preferred.
• Understanding of Life Cycle Assessment methodology and tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations is preferred.
• Experience assisting with third-party audits is preferred.
• Familiarity with business intelligence or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is preferred.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of the packaging, plastics, or manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Ability to meet specified physical requirements, including lifting and carrying over 50 pounds and operating a forklift and automobile/truck/van.
