This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Formulate and implement a comprehensive strategy for supplier development that aligns with the organization's objectives.
• Guide and mentor a team of professionals and engineers dedicated to supplier development.
• Set and uphold supplier performance metrics and perform regular evaluations of supplier capabilities.
• Work in partnership with suppliers to pinpoint and execute enhancements in performance.
• Promote innovation within supplier processes and product offerings, focusing on continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Provide resources aimed at enhancing supplier capabilities.
• Evaluate and manage risks associated with suppliers, addressing issues such as disruptions, quality challenges, and compliance matters.
• Pursue cost-effective solutions while ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
• Oversee and manage heat exchanger pack projects from inception to completion.
• Propel engineering projects and modifications that support end items.
• Monitor issues in Jira, escalate them as necessary, and facilitate solutions for shortages and manufacturing challenges.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams.
• Track project milestones and take necessary actions to guarantee timely delivery.
• Identify and mitigate potential project risks.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and customer specifications.
• Offer technical guidance and support to team members.
• Report directly to the Senior Director of Supplier Development Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in supplier development, engineering, or a related leadership position.
• Strong skills in budget management and financial insight.
• Comprehensive knowledge of supplier development strategies, supplier relationship management, and quality assurance practices.
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Capability to drive change and influence stakeholders effectively.
• Proven success in delivering measurable results.
• Familiarity with industry best practices and current trends in supplier development.
• Understanding of industry standards and regulations pertinent to aerospace.
• Proficient in using Jira, Teamcenter, and SAP.
• Knowledgeable about the customer submittal processes for Airbus and Boeing.
• Understanding of both internal and external change management processes.
• General knowledge of packs and parts produced in Torrance.
• Basic understanding of heat exchangers and valves.
• Ability to thrive in cross-functional team environments.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and addressing inquiries related to drawing modifications.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or individual with protected status in the U.S. due to asylum or refugee status.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.
