Platform – System Validation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Execute the bring-up of the SONiC platform along with ONIE installation, configuration, and testing.

• Spearhead the initial setup and configuration of SONiC-based networking platforms and hardware.

• Assess optical modules, CMIS standards, breakout cables, firmware, and the related hardware subsystems.

• Create and maintain automated testing suites for platform validation.

• Confirm and implement system upgrades and recovery processes.

• Take ownership of overall system stability and soak testing.

• Observe and evaluate thermal metrics and power consumption under diverse workloads.

• Partner with hardware and software engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve platform issues.

• Collaborate within a five-member team utilizing SCRUM/Agile methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with the SONiC platform and ONIE bootloaders, including platform bring-up, installation, and configuration.

• Strong grasp of optical modules, CMIS standards, and port breakout configurations.

• Experience in firmware upgrades, system recovery procedures, and bootloaders.

• Expertise in thermal and power monitoring interfaces and testing.

• Proven history of managing platform stability, resilience, and extended soak testing.

• Proficient in Python and C for developing automated test suites.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries.

• Solid understanding of computer networking protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, and VRF.

• Familiarity with white-box switching hardware and data center network architectures.

• Competent knowledge of Linux systems.

• Proficient command of English (B2 level or above).

• Good understanding of SDN and NFV.

• Experience with distributed systems.
