This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.
• Formulate and implement a comprehensive strategy for supplier development that aligns with the organization's objectives.
• Guide and mentor supplier development engineers and professionals.
• Set and uphold performance standards for suppliers while conducting regular assessments.
• Partner with suppliers to pinpoint enhancements in quality and reliability.
• Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and cost-saving initiatives in supplier processes and products.
• Maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Provide resources for enhancing supplier capabilities.
• Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with suppliers, including disruptions, quality challenges, and compliance issues.
• Pursue cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.
• Oversee heat exchanger pack projects from initiation through to completion.
• Drive engineering projects and modifications supporting end items.
• Monitor issues in Jira, escalate them appropriately, and facilitate solutions for shortages and manufacturing challenges.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Track project progress and ensure timely delivery.
• Identify and address project risks.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and customer specifications.
• Offer technical guidance and support to team members.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in supplier development, engineering, or a related leadership position.
• Strong proficiency in budget management and financial analysis.
• Extensive knowledge of supplier development strategies, supplier relationship management, and quality control principles.
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Capability to drive change and influence stakeholders effectively.
• Demonstrated success in delivering results.
• Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends in supplier development.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations applicable to aerospace.
• Proficient in Jira, Teamcenter, and SAP.
• Understanding of the customer submittal process for Airbus and Boeing.
• Familiarity with both internal and external change processes.
• General knowledge of packs and parts produced in Torrance.
• Basic understanding of heat exchangers and valves.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in reading and analyzing engineering drawings and addressing queries related to drawing modifications.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export control laws: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or individual with protected asylum/refugee status.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required.
