This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Lead and conduct structural design and analysis for various hyperscale and colocation data center facilities.
• Create design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, as well as deep and shallow foundations.
• Collaborate with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams to align design deliverables.
• Supervise construction documents, specifications, and calculations to ensure quality, compliance with codes, and technical excellence.
• Offer mentorship and technical direction to junior engineers and designers.
• Interact with clients, contractors, and review authorities regarding technical inquiries and design clarifications.
• Assist in business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new ventures.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings, site visits, project milestones, and on-site collaboration.
• Collaborate with global AECOM teams on prestigious, fast-paced data center projects.
• A Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent demonstrated experience and/or education.
• Must hold a licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE).
• Proven experience in building structures design and analysis.
• Familiarity with data centers, mission-critical, or large-scale logistics/industrial facilities.
• Proficient with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, and SAFE.
• Experience with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundation systems.
• Proven experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design methodologies.
• Preferred: Over 3 years of experience with data center facilities and knowledge of data center-specific design standards and structural resiliency requirements.
• LEED, Envision, or active involvement in SE 2050 implementation is preferred.
• Expertise in low embodied carbon materials, sustainable structural systems, and emerging industry best practices.
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams.
• Must be able to interpret and apply national and local building codes.
• Eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
• Must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
