This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Deliver civil and structural engineering contributions for feasibility assessments, technical due diligence tasks, owner's engineering functions, and design evaluations for renewable energy initiatives.
• Create initial civil and structural designs, encompassing wind turbine generator foundation concepts and arrangements where applicable.
• Draft technical specifications, design parameters, and Employer's Requirements pertinent to civil and structural activities.
• Serve as the Owner's Engineer and evaluate EPC Contractor adherence to project specifications, relevant standards, and design criteria.
• Assess and provide feedback on EPC Contractor civil and structural submissions, including drawings, specifications, method statements, and design calculations.
• Examine and confirm detailed design calculations and drawings for WTG foundations.
• Engage in technical workshops and design review discussions with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Offer technical assistance during the construction phase, including evaluation of design modifications, technical inquiries, non-conformities, and site challenges.
• Collaborate with site supervision teams and multidisciplinary engineering groups to address civil and structural design-related issues.
• Candidates must possess hands-on experience in the design and/or evaluation of wind turbine generator (WTG) foundations; those lacking relevant WTG foundation experience will not be considered.
• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in civil and structural engineering is essential.
• Practical experience in the design and/or independent evaluation of wind turbine generator foundations is mandatory.
• Familiarity with renewable energy projects such as wind, solar PV, BESS, power generation, or other energy infrastructure projects is necessary.
• A solid understanding of reinforced concrete and steel structure design principles, geotechnical interfaces, and foundation design is required.
• Experience in reviewing detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications produced by EPC contractors or engineering consultants is essential.
• Knowledge of international design standards and codes such as Eurocodes, ACI, ASCE, IBC, and AISC is expected.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software like SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis, or comparable tools is necessary.
• Strong command of written and spoken English is required.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• Capability to work autonomously as well as within multidisciplinary project teams is crucial.
