This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Identify, assess, and collaborate with both domestic and international structural engineering vendors and local certifying engineers.
• Ensure that vendors are capable of delivering structural analysis, design, and certification that adheres to local building codes.
• Take ownership of the initial structural due diligence for sites both domestically and internationally.
• Analyze seismic, wind, snow, and soil conditions while mapping local code and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
• Create and sustain template structural designs for MDC components, encompassing raised platforms, ISO containers and connections, foundations/pads, anchorage, and piping supports.
• Conduct structural analysis and design for new Armada products and unique site conditions.
• Establish the engineering basis internally before transitioning to local certifying engineers for jurisdictional review and approval.
• Connect Armada product engineering with fabricators, general contractors, and local structural/civil engineers.
• Review shop drawings, anchoring/embedment details, and equipment integration for generators, transformers, Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB), and chillers.
• Develop and uphold structural requirement guidelines, site-readiness checklists, and certification workflows.
• Monitor open structural items across active sites.
• Provide final approval confirming MDC and site certification, safety, and operational readiness.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE or SE) license or an equivalent international certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer).
• 5–7 years of practical experience in structural analysis and design for steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Experience with foundations, platforms, and equipment anchorage.
• Capability to independently conduct structural analysis and design in-house for new products and site conditions.
• Proficient understanding of structural analysis/design software and building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Ability to navigate comparable international structural codes, such as NCC and Eurocode.
• Familiarity with seismic, wind, snow, and soil load conditions.
• Comfort working with a high level of autonomy.
• Willingness and capability to travel approximately 20–30% to project sites, fabrication facilities, and construction locations globally.
