This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
⢠Assess structural solutions for technical risks, cost-effectiveness, scheduling, robustness, buildability, and delivery alignment.
⢠Oversee gravity, wind, seismic, and vibration analyses for modules, frames, racks, and supporting structures.
⢠Examine MDCs, equipment skids, enclosures, and factory-built assemblies while providing structural recommendations.
⢠Validate structural solutions for HAC systems across overhead, rack-integrated, and floor-supported configurations.
⢠Formulate seismic bracing and restraint strategies for MEP systems, cable trays, pipe racks, and modular assemblies.
⢠Design foundations, steel frames, and anchoring solutions for data center equipment.
⢠Establish structural strategies for thermal loads, vibration-sensitive equipment, and deflection-managed assemblies.
⢠Create and maintain DFMEA documentation and optimize product families for weight, manufacturability, cost, and scalability.
⢠Assist in structural design and coordination for manufacturing facilities and production areas.
⢠Assess factory layout modifications, equipment installations, capacity expansions, floor loading, crane rails, mezzanines, docks, and material-handling systems.
⢠Support factory layout and integration, including load paths, transportation loads, installation constraints, DFMA, design templates, and modularization strategies.
⢠Specify requirements for the transportation, lifting, placement, shipping, and logistics of equipment and skids.
⢠Collaborate with BIM/Revit teams on integrated, clash-free structural models and master coordination models.
⢠Engage in multi-discipline coordination reviews and address structural clearances, anchorage zones, and maintenance envelopes.
⢠Review coordination drawings and uphold structural model quality and LOD standards per the BIM Execution Plan.
⢠Work alongside fabrication shops and factory teams to ensure designs are feasible, manufacturable, and ready for installation.
⢠Examine shop drawings, fabrication details, welds, connections, and material specifications.
⢠Verify lifting, rigging, transportation, and shipping load cases, including temporary bracing.
⢠Support factory builds, FATs, and field installations; address RFIs, NCRs, and production deviations.
⢠Generate and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and stamped engineering packages.
⢠Coordinate with third-party engineering partners and AHJ approvals.
⢠Ensure adherence to applicable codes, seismic standards, customer requirements, and product certification pathways.
⢠Contribute to design standards, platform templates, best practices, and lessons-learned documentation.
⢠Mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and act as a technical escalation resource.
⢠A Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) is required.
⢠Minimum of 8 years of progressive structural engineering experience, including leadership of complex structural systems in high-availability industrial or mission-critical facilities.
⢠A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
⢠Demonstrated experience in producing stamped engineering packages, reviewing vendor calculations, and managing AHJ coordination.
⢠Strongly preferred experience with modular construction, prefabricated data center infrastructure, or factory-built assemblies.
⢠Familiarity with hyperscale or colocation data center programs and platform-based delivery models is a significant advantage.
