This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.
• Lead and conduct structural design and analysis for various hyperscale and colocation data center facilities.
• Create design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations.
• Coordinate design outputs with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams.
• Supervise construction documents, specifications, and calculations to ensure quality, code compliance, and technical excellence.
• Mentor and offer technical support to junior engineers and designers.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and review authorities regarding technical inquiries and design clarifications.
• Assist in business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new initiatives.
• Occasionally travel for client meetings, site visits, milestones, and other project-related activities.
• Work together with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center projects.
• A bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
• A licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE).
• Demonstrated experience in designing and analyzing building structures.
• Specific experience in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale logistics/industrial facilities.
• Proficient with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, and SAFE.
• Familiarity with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundation systems.
• Proven experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design methodologies.
• Preferred: More than 3 years of experience with data center facilities and knowledge of data center design standards and structural resiliency requirements.
• Preferred: LEED, Envision, or active leadership in SE 2050 implementation.
• Capability to interpret and apply national and local building codes.
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership abilities.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams.
