This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Lead and execute structural design and analysis for a variety of hyperscale and colocation data center buildings.
• Create design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, as well as deep and shallow foundations.
• Coordinate design outputs with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams.
• Supervise construction documents, specifications, and calculations to ensure quality, compliance with codes, and technical excellence.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and review authorities regarding technical inquiries and design clarifications.
• Assist in business development, proposal creation, and conceptual structural design for new projects.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings, site visits, project milestones, and onsite collaboration sessions.
• Partner with global AECOM teams on prestigious data center projects for international clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE).
• Experience in data centers, mission-critical, or large-scale logistics/industrial facilities.
• Proficiency with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, SAFE, and similar software tools.
• Familiarity with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundation systems.
• Proven experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design methodologies.
• Preferred: Over 3 years of experience with data center facilities and knowledge of data center design standards and structural resiliency requirements.
• Preferred: LEED, Envision, or active participation in SE 2050 implementation.
• Expertise in low embodied carbon materials, sustainable structural systems, and emerging industry best practices.
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams.
• Capability to interpret and apply national and local building codes.
• Occasional scheduled travel may be necessary.
