Senior Staff Technical Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with product management teams to establish the strategic direction for development requirements.

• Articulate a clear vision and detailed requirements to the build and/or operations teams.

• Balance the development of new features, address defects, and manage technical debt to define deliverables.

• Integrate and harmonize viewpoints from Product Managers, Technical Anchors, Product Owners, and Developers.

• Exhibit exceptional product and industry insight to provide the organization with a competitive edge.

• Collect voice-of-customer requirements, refine them, and gather product feedback.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features and complex, significant products.

• Partner with UX, Architecture, and engineering teams on challenges and decisions.

• Conduct interviews with customers and stakeholders, and develop detailed personas.

• Align customer, product management, and engineering teams through effective persuasion and influence.

• Manage release and sprint backlogs as well as short-term MVP and quarterly release roadmaps.

• Organize, prioritize, and maintain the backlog, ensuring readiness for 1–2 sprints/iterations.

• Engage with the development team around 50% of the time to facilitate discussions, clarify requirements, refine stories, test and validate, and contribute to design choices.

• Convert ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units.

• Troubleshoot production issues via iterative testing and data analysis.

• Provide monthly status updates in conjunction with other products within the same functional area.

• Collaborate with Development Leadership to uphold a robust development process.

• Mentor junior team members.

• Offer technical leadership to TPMs throughout the organization and coach others in Agile methodologies.

• Utilize AI and emerging digital tools to enhance insight generation, decision-making, and accelerate speed to value.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR Associate’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.

• At least 5 years of professional experience in Technical Product Management.

• Military experience is considered equivalent to professional experience.

• Strong understanding of software design and coding principles.

• Experience in an Agile work environment.

• Familiarity with various implementation options.

• Knowledge of caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security.

• Proficient understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.

• Ability to explore alternative technologies and approaches for problem-solving.

• Capability to decompose problems, document problem statements, and estimate efforts.

• Ability to assess the impact of technology choices.

• Clear and effective communication skills with diverse business stakeholders.

• Negotiation skills to align stakeholders and convey a synthesized perspective.

• Awareness of the competitive landscape.

• Knowledge of market technologies for buy-versus-build recommendations, MVP scoping, and market timing decisions.

• Ability to influence, articulate decisions and their downstream implications, and engage in technical strategy planning.

• Capacity to direct and mentor others in critical thinking skills.

• Proactive engagement with cross-functional teams to resolve issues using critical thinking and analysis.

• Innovative mindset to integrate new processes and technologies.

• Must demonstrate U.S. Person status for access to U.S. export-controlled information.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable; employees may be subject to random and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
