Senior Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the development and advancement of CisionOne’s media intelligence platform along with its associated systems and processes.

• Enhance and build CisionOne’s desktop and mobile applications, along with their supporting systems.

• Contribute to planning and designing future innovations.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Developers, Account Managers, and clients to grasp feature requirements and business challenges.

• Design data and software architectures utilizing existing frameworks or creating new components.

• Assess external libraries, services, and APIs.

• Employ AI-assisted development tools while reviewing, testing, and owning the code generated.

• Write version-controlled backend and frontend code, mainly using Ruby on Rails and VueJS.

• Create automated unit and end-to-end tests.

• Submit code for automated processes and peer evaluations.

• Review code produced by other engineers.

• Deploy code to preview and staging environments.

• Collect feedback from stakeholders and modify solutions accordingly.

• Merge and deploy code to the production environment while monitoring its performance.

• Investigate and resolve feature or performance-related issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient in Ruby on Rails and VueJS frameworks, alongside other pertinent backend and frontend technologies.

• Capable of using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot in a responsible and efficient manner.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Proven ability to lead and/or deliver on complex software systems.

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

• Knowledge of software best practices with the ability to provide sound advice.

• Preferred: Some experience in DevOps, particularly with Kubernetes and Elasticsearch.

• Preferred: Background in media, news, or content.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Excel, project management tools, CRM tools, and Boolean Search.
