Senior Staff Sales Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Assist in qualifying and securing opportunities with customers and partners by leveraging technical expertise.

• Inform prospects about CockroachDB's features and devise solutions to address customer challenges.

• Conduct product and solution briefings.

• Create proof-of-concepts and perform live product demonstrations.

• Develop prototypes for CockroachDB integrations.

• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and support teams to address customer issues and enhance CockroachDB.

• Recognize customers’ technical objections and formulate engineering strategies to eliminate adoption barriers.

• Gain familiarity with CockroachDB, the company, technology, and sales messaging within the first 30 days.

• Independently lead customer meetings and conduct POCs after 90 days.

• Develop regional go-to-market strategies and account plans in partnership with Account Managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10–12+ years of experience in gathering requirements, developing solution architectures, leading presentations, and training prospective users or project teams on software similar to CockroachDB.

• Previous experience in developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.

• Strong knowledge of contemporary infrastructure and database technologies.

• Enthusiasm for tackling complex technical challenges.

• Capability to establish relationships with partners, customers, and open-source users.

• Team-oriented mindset and ability to relay customer feedback across various teams.

• Willingness to travel to customers, events, or conferences as needed.

• Must be located in the Central territory.

• Must reside in Australia for this remote role based in Australia.
