This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Execute audits and investigations in compliance with 14 CFR Title 14, Part 121.373 and relevant United and regulatory standards.
• Conduct on-site and external compliance audits, approvals, and surveillance activities within Technical Operations and external support organizations.
• Carry out risk assessments and prepare audit reports.
• Oversee corrective actions and perform follow-ups to ensure adherence to program compliance and acceptable quality standards.
• Evaluate operational compliance and performance across engineering, inspection, maintenance, aircraft documentation, parts procurement and manufacturing, fueling, and other technical initiatives.
• Fulfill surveillance requirements of the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System.
• Conduct investigations through interviews, data analysis, evidence collection, and comprehensive documentation.
• Record and report findings, ensuring that corrective actions are initiated.
• Incorporate SMS principles into surveillance tasks and identify significant safety and regulatory compliance risks.
• Confirm root causes and corrective and preventive measures.
• Collaborate with pertinent organizations to finalize audit conclusions, secure commitments, and produce conclusive investigation reports.
• Offer regulatory guidance and support the CASS Review Board on technical issues.
• Represent the company at industry or regulatory meetings as the appointed representative.
• Maintain communication with the FAA or other regulatory bodies.
• Engage with senior management through reports, presentations, and constructive feedback.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager or Director of Quality Assurance.
• Travel 50% of the time while working remotely.
• Bachelor’s degree in aviation, engineering, technology, or a related field, or military experience.
• Minimum of two years' experience in aviation, ideally in aircraft maintenance inspection, engineering, and/or quality assurance.
• Familiarity with relevant Code of Federal Regulations and Company Manuals / Requirements.
• Understanding of engineering documents, drawings, AMM's, IPCs, and WDMs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven experience in learning Company-specific platforms.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of the interview process is required to meet job qualifications.
• Consistent and punctual attendance is a critical function of this role.
• Preferred qualifications include American Society of Quality or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• FAA Airframe or Powerplant License is preferred.
• Three years' experience in aviation is preferred.
• Experience in auditing and risk assessment within engineering and/or quality assurance is preferred.
• Experience in writing policies and procedures is preferred.
• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization software, such as Palantir, Spotfire, and/or SQL, is preferred.
• Knowledge of process mapping, measurement, and improvement techniques is preferred.
