Associate Director, Quality Engineering – Sales & Marketing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead the execution of quality engineering for designated applications, products, or agile teams.

• Manage, mentor, and develop leaders in quality engineering, engineers, and SDETs.

• Establish and uphold quality engineering standards, practices, and governance at both the segment and enterprise levels.

• Facilitate functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and release validation activities.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Platform, DevOps, and enterprise quality teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Supervise defect triage, trend analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective-action tracking.

• Assist in release-readiness evaluations and production deployment validation.

• Promote the adoption of automation and ensure sustainable regression coverage.

• Incorporate automated validations and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.

• Organize performance, resiliency, operational-readiness, and security validation activities.

• Track quality metrics, delivery trends, and production outcomes.

• Raise awareness of systemic quality issues, portfolio risks, and capacity limitations.

• Contribute to the modernization of quality engineering through enterprise tools and reusable frameworks.

• Encourage the responsible use of AI-enabled quality engineering capabilities while ensuring compliance with security, privacy, regulatory, and operational standards.

• Achieve enhanced quality execution, reduced escaped defects, stronger automation, consistent release readiness, and improved team development outcomes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, testing, or related technical fields.

• At least 3 years of leadership experience managing quality engineering, test automation, or software delivery teams within enterprise settings.

• Proven experience leading quality engineering efforts across various agile teams or complex applications.

• Expertise in enhancing quality engineering practices, including automation, process improvements, and metrics-driven execution.

• Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.

• Experience with API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing strategies.

• Familiarity with distributed systems and contemporary application architectures.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across product, engineering, and operational teams.

• Experience in matrixed organizations and coordinating efforts among distributed teams.

• Background in healthcare or another highly regulated industry is preferred.

• Knowledge of member, provider, digital experience, or enterprise platform domains is preferred.

• Familiarity with enterprise quality tools, test management platforms, and engineering lifecycle tools is preferred.

• Understanding of microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud-native architectures is preferred.

• Experience with non-functional testing, including performance and resiliency, is preferred.

• Exposure to AI-enabled quality engineering or intelligent automation capabilities is preferred.

• Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles across cloud, hybrid, on-premise, and SaaS environments is preferred.

• Experience in implementing AI-enabled quality engineering or intelligent automation capabilities is preferred.

• Minimum home internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

• Ability to work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
