This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and qualify both new and existing suppliers, including those located internationally.
• Develop and implement strategies for supplier engagement during the MAC capacity expansion and production ramp-up phases.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, quality systems, and technical capabilities in relation to missile production requirements.
• Lead initial supplier engagement efforts focused on manufacturability and quality planning.
• Support capability development and process enhancements aimed at fostering long-term production growth.
• Provide technical and strategic guidance for supplier quality performance, quality planning, risk management, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Utilize data-driven methodologies and statistical tools to enhance supplier capabilities, minimize variation, and avert defects.
• Implement advanced quality engineering principles throughout the entire supplier lifecycle.
• Conduct supplier risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Formulate supplier quality plans, process controls, and inspection strategies.
• Engage in MRB, change review boards, and configuration control activities.
• Oversee complex supplier investigations and ensure the effective closure of SCARs.
• Travel approximately 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant quality experience.
• Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related quality experience.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of related quality experience can substitute for a degree.
• A current passport is required for domestic and international travel.
• Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
• A valid driver’s license is necessary.
• Experience in aerospace materials and manufacturing processes is essential.
• Familiarity with supplier qualification processes is required.
• Experience with composites, EPDM elastomers, phenolic materials, or specialty chemicals is preferred.
• Knowledge of Metal Case and Flowforming processes is advantageous.
• Experience with precision machined components is necessary.
• Understanding of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, AS9102, and AS9145 is crucial.
• Six Sigma Certification is required.
• Previous experience with MRB processes is preferred.
• Experience supporting missile systems or defense aerospace programs is a plus.
• 9/80 work schedule allowing for a day off every other Friday.
