Senior Staff Engineer, Supply Chain Optimization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Comprehend client business use cases and technical requirements, transforming them into sophisticated technical designs.

• Create optimization models utilizing exact solvers like Gurobi, CPLEX, and AMPL.

• Develop heuristic and meta-heuristic algorithms, including genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, tabu search, and particle swarm optimization.

• Construct discrete-event and agent-based simulations using AnyLogic, FlexSim, or similar platforms.

• Convert business challenges into mathematical formulations and integrate models into scalable applications.

• Assist in pre-sales and GTM asset development.

• Align decisions with requirements and communicate them effectively to developers.

• Identify alternative solutions and determine the optimal choice for client needs.

• Establish guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements during project execution.

• Draft and review architecture, framework, and high-level design documents.

• Evaluate architecture and design for extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional requirements.

• Develop comprehensive solutions for both functional and non-functional requirements, defining technologies, patterns, and frameworks.

• Understand and apply technology integration scenarios within projects.

• Address code and review issues through systematic root-cause analysis and provide justification for decisions.

• Conduct proofs of concept to validate proposed designs and technologies.

• Keep abreast of advancements in operations research and simulation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7.5 years of total experience.

• Experience with supply chain platforms such as Llamasoft, O9, Anaplan, and Kinaxis.

• Capability to create hybrid optimization methods and real-time optimization engines for large-scale, time-sensitive challenges.

• Proficiency in implementing machine learning-enhanced optimization and approximation algorithms for complex combinatorial issues.

• Familiarity with meta-heuristic algorithms and simulation platforms.

• Advanced skills in Python programming and a solid understanding of computational complexity.

• Demonstrated experience in resolving real-world supply chain challenges, including network optimization, inventory planning, routing, warehousing, and sourcing.

• Ability to translate data and models into clear business insights.

• Strong communication skills to connect technical work with business decision-making.

• Excellent business communication and trade-off assessment capabilities.

• Experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn and TensorFlow, along with multi-objective optimization.

• Background in parallel computing, stochastic optimization, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Experience in application integration and consulting.

• Proficiency in optimization solvers and heuristic algorithm development.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
