Senior Staff Engineer, Supply Chain Optimization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Comprehend client business scenarios and technical specifications, converting them into technical designs.

• Create optimization models utilizing exact solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, AMPL) along with heuristic/meta-heuristic algorithms.

• Develop discrete-event and agent-based simulations using AnyLogic, FlexSim, or similar platforms.

• Transform business challenges into mathematical formulations and incorporate models into scalable applications.

• Assist in pre-sales activities and the development of go-to-market assets.

• Remain updated with advancements in operations research and simulation technologies.

• Align decisions with requirements and convey them to developers effectively.

• Explore various solutions and refine them to find the best option that fulfills client needs.

• Establish guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements during the project execution phase.

• Draft and assess design documents that encompass architecture, frameworks, and overarching application design.

• Evaluate architecture and design for factors such as extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional requirements.

• Design and develop comprehensive solutions addressing both functional and non-functional requirements, specifying technologies, patterns, and frameworks.

• Implement technology integration scenarios and insights gained during projects.

• Address code and review challenges through thorough root-cause analysis and provide justification for decisions made.

• Conduct proofs of concept to validate proposed designs and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 9 years of total experience.

• Proficiency with supply chain platforms such as Llamasoft, O9, Anaplan, and Kinaxis.

• Capability to develop hybrid optimization strategies and real-time optimization engines for large-scale, time-sensitive challenges.

• Expertise in implementing machine learning-enhanced optimization and approximation algorithms for intricate combinatorial problems.

• Familiarity with meta-heuristic algorithms and simulation platforms.

• Advanced skills in Python programming and a solid understanding of computational complexity.

• Demonstrated experience in resolving real-world supply chain issues such as network optimization, inventory management, routing, warehousing, and sourcing.

• Ability to convert data and models into concise business recommendations.

• Excellent communication skills to connect technical work with business decision-making processes.

• Strong business communication abilities and skills in assessing trade-offs.

• Experience with machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow) and multi-objective optimization techniques.

• Knowledge of parallel computing, stochastic optimization, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Background in application integration and consulting.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
