This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and enhance Airbnb’s brand voice, tone, and editorial guidelines for both humans and AI systems.
• Collaborate with Marketing Technology teams to train, fine-tune, and assess language models according to brand voice standards.
• Review and enhance AI-generated content across various campaigns, products, and marketing platforms.
• Develop and uphold scalable editorial quality assurance processes for AI-generated material.
• Determine what content necessitates human review versus what can be published autonomously.
• Transform brand guidelines into style guides, prompt frameworks, and training examples.
• Work cross-functionally to create internal tools for editorial reviewing, model training, and content quality assurance.
• Identify deficiencies in the tooling ecosystem and assist in scoping, prioritizing, and defining requirements for new tools.
• Test new tools with editorial and creative teams, collect feedback, and make improvements prior to broader implementation.
• Provide senior-level editorial feedback to writers, creative directors, and AI workflows.
• Collaborate with Legal, Trust, and Localization teams across various markets, languages, and regulatory frameworks.
• Mentor and uplift writing and editorial talent throughout the organization.
• Stay informed about developments in language models to enhance editorial standards and training techniques.
• Look for opportunities to streamline copy creation or delivery processes.
• Address language and voice consistency challenges at the system level.
• Ensure that marketing material product screens are accurate and efficiently produced.
• Over 10 years of experience in editorial, copywriting, or brand voice roles.
• Ideally have experience at a Creative Director or Senior Editor level within an in-house brand team, agency, or publication renowned for editorial excellence.
• Proven ability to scrutinize language with an exacting eye, including taste, rhythm, and judgment.
• Experience in developing or maintaining brand voice guidelines on a large scale for a global, multi-market brand.
• Direct experience in working with or training AI/language models.
• Understanding of how models learn from examples and feedback.
• Capability to provide feedback that enhances model outputs.
• Comfort in serving as both a hands-on editor and a systems thinker.
• Strong collaboration skills across Engineering/Technology, Legal, and Localization teams.
• Ability to write brand guidelines, copy within tools, and messaging within product screens.
• A portfolio or collection of work showcasing a distinctive, well-crafted brand voice.
• Skill in simplifying complex issues and providing clarity in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Preferred: experience at a company recognized for its editorial voice or brand language system.
• Preferred: familiarity with prompt engineering, fine-tuning workflows, or structured content systems used for training generative models.
• Preferred: experience in localizing or adapting brand voice across different languages and cultural contexts.
• Preferred: background in traditional editorial craft as well as modern content operations.
• Must reside in a US state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
• Must be available to work West Coast hours (PST).
