This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Implement, oversee, and enhance the Splunk platform to facilitate automation and orchestration of security operations.
• Create tailored playbooks for a variety of stakeholders.
• Integrate Splunk with additional security tools.
• Improve the overall security posture of the organization.
• Generate custom Splunk reports, dashboards, and content according to customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues within Splunk instances.
• Carry out scope-of-work tasks and adhere to standard operating procedures with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and objectives.
• Act as the escalation point for complex issues.
• Support Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers with intricate tasks.
• Must possess a TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
• Security certification such as Security+ or CISSP is mandatory.
• 7–10 years of relevant work experience is required.
• Experience in classified environments is essential.
• Strong knowledge of identity, SIEM, cybersecurity, and infrastructure concepts.
• Splunk Core certification is a must.
• Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) certification is preferred.
• Splunk Certified Architect/Consultant is highly desirable.
• Experience or interest in learning, deploying, and maintaining Splunk SOAR.
• Experience or willingness to learn, deploy, and maintain Splunk Enterprise Security.
• Experience or interest in learning, deploying, and maintaining Cribl Stream.
• Strong experience with Linux and scripting languages, including Python, Ansible, Terraform, and JSON.
• Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of leadership concepts and principles.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Capacity to communicate complex messages clearly to diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel to fulfill client requirements.
• Open to candidates with government experience or those currently employed in government roles.
