This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and enhance global payroll, health and welfare benefits programs, along with foundational HRIS operations.
• Report directly to the Head of People Operations.
• Spearhead the execution of total rewards across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K./EU.
• Supervise the comprehensive semi-monthly and monthly global payrolls for over 375 employees.
• Manage relationships and processing with Paychex, Payworks, and Remote.com/EOR platforms.
• Ensure precise multi-jurisdictional tax withholdings, garnishments, variable compensation, and equity/severance payouts.
• Direct and review payroll execution and data entry performed by two People Operations specialists based in India.
• Lead the annual Open Enrollment process for U.S. and Canadian entities.
• Oversee the administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k)/RRSP match, FSA, HSA, and commuter plans.
• Collaborate with Finance on bill reconciliation, benefit funding schedules, and tracking of leaves of absence.
• Assess and align benefit offerings in the U.K. and EU.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local labor and tax regulations.
• Act as the primary contact for payroll, benefits, financial, and workers’ compensation audits.
• Administer and enhance HRIS and payroll tools and integrations.
• Maintain data integrity across employee records, job changes, compensation, and status updates.
• Construct, analyze, and distribute labor cost, headcount, leave, and total rewards analytics for executive leadership.
• Mentor two People Operations team members located in India.
• 6-8+ years of combined experience in payroll and benefits administration.
• Minimum of 2+ years in a managerial role overseeing international operations.
• Hands-on experience managing U.S. payroll along with Canadian and European/U.K. payrolls, through direct platforms or EOR/PEO models.
• Advanced proficiency in Paychex, Payworks, Remote.com (or similar global payroll tools), and contemporary HRIS environments.
• Strong Excel capabilities, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data modeling.
• Solid working knowledge of U.S. self-funded and fully-insured plans, 401(k) administration, and Canadian statutory benefit frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage, train, and effectively delegate to global/offshore support teams across various time zones.
