Senior Specialist, Employee Relations – APAC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Oversee and address intricate end-to-end employee exits across various international jurisdictions.

• Offer guidance on termination processes, resignations, transfers, employment contracts, and redundancy protocols.

• Facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including consultations on workforce reductions, administrative hearings, separation negotiations, settlements, and termination decisions.

• Negotiate and influence favorable outcomes in complex termination situations.

• Collaborate with payroll, legal advisors, government agencies, trade unions, and other stakeholders during offboarding processes and audits.

• Create, customize, and manage termination and supplementary documentation.

• Ensure employee records are maintained in accordance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.

• Process offboarding via Remote’s internal HRIS platform.

• Work in conjunction with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, and other internal teams.

• Serve as an informal escalation point and mentor to junior team members.

• Offer guidance on Employee Relations resources and navigate complex workplace issues.

• Evaluate workplace concerns, identify relevant regulations, and propose actionable solutions.

• Monitor and track employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-up.

• Address offboarding and first-level employee relations inquiries as a subject-matter expert.

• Identify and implement process enhancements, automation, product development, and improvements to customer and employee experiences.

• Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments utilizing independent judgment.

• Report directly to the Manager of Employee Lifecycle, Employee Relations & Transitions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Background as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with a generalist HR skill set and exposure throughout the employee lifecycle.

• Demonstrated experience in independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with sensitivity, care, and legal compliance.

• Proven ability to provide comprehensive HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations across diverse jurisdictions.

• Solid understanding of employee relations principles, progressive disciplinary approaches, and fundamentals of workplace investigations.

• Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and analyze intricate HR issues.

• Proficiency in independently researching issues, converting findings into usable team resources, and offering practical solutions.

• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict resolution, and negotiation abilities.

• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English at a business level.

• Strong inclination towards process innovation, optimization, automation, and advocating for best practices.

• Effective in operations, meticulous in record-keeping, and committed to data integrity.

• Tech-savvy and able to collaborate asynchronously through various tools while adapting to changing systems.

• Ability to work independently and cohesively in a fast-paced, international, asynchronous, remote environment while managing competing priorities.

• Readiness to work flexible hours as required.

• Strong capabilities in automation and AI, with fluency in AI concepts.

• Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law are advantageous.

• Previous employment verification check required.
