Senior Software Integration Engineer – Workday Integrations, Extend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and provide support for enterprise applications utilizing Workday Extend.

• Oversee the architecture, data models, pages, business process integration, and security setup of Extend applications.

• Manage Extend applications throughout the entire application lifecycle, including documentation and ongoing support.

• Maintain and support existing Extend applications while addressing issues and enhancement requests.

• Enhance applications for improved performance, usability, and maintainability.

• Develop reusable components, shared services, and delivery patterns.

• Assess new capabilities of Workday Extend and prototype innovative ideas.

• Create and support integrations using Studio, Orchestrate, Core Connectors, EIBs, REST and SOAP APIs, and Workday Web Services.

• Implement secure, observable, and maintainable integration patterns.

• Update integrations through automation, AI-assisted development, and reusable components.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Security, Engineering, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, architectural discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.

• Balance feature delivery, application optimization, technical debt reduction, and operational support.

• Diagnose production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.

• Mentor junior engineers and contractors.

• Identify workflow bottlenecks and automate processes and integrations within Workday.

• Assist in establishing CI/CD, monitoring, and standardized engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in building, supporting, and optimizing applications with Workday Extend, covering application architecture, data models, pages, security, and the complete application lifecycle.

• Hands-on experience in developing enterprise applications on the Workday platform.

• Strong background in Workday integrations, including Studio, Orchestrate, Core Connectors, EIBs, APIs, and Workday Web Services.

• Proficient in REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, and common enterprise integration patterns.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in Agile delivery environments, covering backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and iterative delivery.

• Capability to manage conflicting priorities between project work and operational support.

• Enthusiasm for mentoring team members.

• Workday Extend and Workday Integration certifications are highly desirable.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and AI-assisted development is a plus.

• Experience in enhancing business processes or integration workflows through automation is a plus.

• Must adhere to Mastercard security policies and practices.
